Sin and its Wages [ Forward Message via Email ]
Sin has been accepted and accommodated in this world as a part of life. People play with sin as if it were a friend and even encourage others to do the same (Romans 1:32) and many Christians have brought this evil acts into the Church because of the influence of the world. Even though sin seem sweet and pleasurable to the flesh, it is far more deadly to the point of bringing total condemnation of a person’s soul. Sin is like a bitter poison wrapped with chocolate. Eating it initially seems good but its aftermath is bitter and deadly.

“Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:“ - 1 Peter 4:4

As we read in 1 Peter 4:4, when a person do not partake of sin, people see him/her as weird in this world and will want to make him/her feel left out. Probably, that is what is enticing many Christians to compromise their faith. Never get drown in by that because it will only get you into trouble. A child of God cannot play with sin the way an unbeliever does. My younger brother is born again. He got himself into doing something that was trickery but got into trouble. Apparently this happened to him whenever he tries such. I have had similar experiences when I was much younger in the Lord and was trying to follow unbelievers in their acts. When I did such, it got me into trouble but unbelievers never got into trouble instantly on doing evil. Christians cannot and should not play with sin; neither should they compare themselves with unbelievers. Christians are different in the fact that they have the ability to stop sinning while unbelievers don’t.

In the previous message, we talked on living for God and not for self in which one of the verses we discussed from was 2 Timothy 3:1-3 which talked on the increase of sin on the earth as a sign of the last days. We currently see this happening around us today, men committing fornication with pleasure, covetous for every earthly thing, ready to kill others for no reason, puffed up in their little mind, regarding not God who created them; they hear God’s word but don’t change their ways because of the hardness of their heart due to sin. This is what Jesus Christ was talking about in Matthew 24:12 that because iniquity (sin and the cares of this world) abound the love of many will wax cold. The church is cold for just this fact “SIN”.

Looking at another of our previous message on the second coming of Christ, we find out in the book of Revelation Chapter 2 and 3 that Christ referred to the issue of sin in more than half of the Churches. In fact, the whole problem of man from his fall in the garden was because of sin. The bible says that because of one man’s sin, man fell short of the glory of God. The reason why the bible was given to man, Jesus Christ died and rose again was to address the issue of sin.

“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” - Daniel 9:24

If sin is taken away, then man’s problem will be eternally solved but apparently that will not happen till the second coming of Jesus Christ as we read in Daniel 9:24.

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” - Proverbs 14:34

The Church is not totally taking its role in the world today because it has accommodated sin and treated it trivially. As we go on in this message, we will use Israel as a case sample and see how God abhors sin. When Israel allowed sin in their mist, they suffered dearly for it.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” - Romans 3:23

If sin was the reason man lost is glory in the beginning according to Romans 3:23, it will still be the reason why the glory of God is not in the Church today. As long as the Church accommodates sin, the glory of God will not manifest itself fully. God is looking for people to show his power through to the world.

In this message, we will want to bring to your knowledge by the help of the Holy Spirit the true meaning of sin, degrees of sin, the cost of sin and its cure.

What is Sin?
If I was to ask you what is sin? Most people will say it is disobeying the Ten Commandments, which is partially right.

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” - 1 John 3:4

In 1 John 3:4, sin is said to be transgression of the law but the law was abridged by Jesus Christ into two laws which covers the Ten Commandments.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” - Matthew 22:37-40

The new abridge laws we find in Matthew 22:37-40 is love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourself. These are just the two commandments we have to keep now.

“For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” - Romans 13:9

We certainly know from Romans 13:9 that the whole Ten Commandments are fulfilled in these two (2) laws. The reason why the law of God is stretched with this new commandment is the fact that your mind must be involved now. Love is acted on not only in action but also with the mind. The Pharisees kind of kept the Ten Commandments but their heart were not in it. You might not kill someone but you might wish he was dead and love will not do that. You might assume you are helping someone but in your heart you really don’t want to and love will not do that but with that you might still be keeping the Ten Commandments. You might not commit fornication physically but if you meditate on that, you have committed sin. So in these two laws, deeds alone don’t count but deeds that goes with the heart.

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” - James 4:17

Many Christians think they are walking in love only when they are asked for something or someone comes to meet them first which is a poor mentality of love. Love goes out of his way to help and not only when asked. Love looks for whom to minister the love of God to by the seconds and not once a year. We didn’t ask God to come to die for us but He did it anyway through Jesus Christ; that is what love is. From James 4:17, we see a new light to the definition of sin. He that knows what to do and does not do it is sin. So when we know that we should love and don’t love, that is sin. We know that we have been commissioned to preach the gospel to all nations in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and if we don’t do it, that is sin. If you didn’t know that before that is ok but I know that you now know from this message.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” - John 14:15

The proof we are keeping the first commandment is that we are keeping the second commandment too because Jesus Christ said in John 14:15 that if we love Him we should keep is commandments.

“For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” - Romans 5:19

In the beginning, there was no sin in man but it was disobedience to God’s word that brought the fall of man by Adam as we read in Romans 5:19. If I were to define sin in my own terms in relation to the bible, I will say it is the disobedience to the word of God. There are two basic sets of instruction for every Christian. The first is the general instruction which every Christians must obey and that is the commandment of love (Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourself). This general instruction is all the instruction of God in the bible which includes preaching of the gospel to all creatures. Certainly, you will want to let those around you know about Jesus Christ because He is the truth and anyone that is not born again is in danger of the lake of fire, if you are walking in love.

“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” - 2 Timothy 2:21

The second set of instruction is the specific instruction which normally comes after the first instruction is being carried out. It is the instruction in the path of your calling. This set of instructions you won’t find in the bible (even though there are similarities). Every Christian has an assignment for God on this earth and will know it once they are doing the first instruction.

When I became attentive to the first instruction, God gave me the second set of instruction which is what I now do. It is unique and specific. If you are faithful to the first, you certain will be faithful to the second set of instructions but anyone set of instruction you disobey is sin. I will say Sin is disobedience again the laws of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Are there degrees of sin?

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” - Matthew 22:37-38

Jesus Christ said in Matthew 22:38 that loving God with all that you have got is the first and greatest commandment. If there is a great commandment that means there are degrees of sin.

“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” - Revelation 20:13

In Revelation 20:13, we clearly read that the dead will be judge according to their works which is another indication that their will be degrees of punishment for different sins. The fact remains that any sin will take you to the lake of fire, so therefore all sins should be rejected. I once got talking to a Christian Sister who was telling me that if a person happens to commit fornication and Christ came before he/she confesses the sin, that Christ will over look it and the person will still be saved. Okay, let me give an illustration and you can answer for yourself. Let us assume there was a gang of robbers who became well known for terrorizing a particular city. They decided to add a new member who was a lukewarm Christian that just wanted to steal for the first time but unfortunately, this time was their day of judgment, they all got caught. Will the new thief (the lukewarm Christian) be punished with the other older thieves? Of course he will, if you have a sin you have not confessed before you die or Christ’s second coming, you certainly are in danger of going to the lake of fire. As a born again Christian, you best sincerely confess every sin immediately you notice it and not when you feel like. As we go on, I will tell you why you should run from sin. It will interest you what sin does to anyone, born again or not.

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” - Hebrews 6:4-6

Even though every sin can be forgiven, there are two particular sins that are unforgivable. One of these cases is found in Hebrews 6:4-6. This talks about someone who is born again, have received the gift of the Holy Spirit, operates in spiritual gifts, known the truth and probably tasted of the anointing and then turns his back to reject Jesus Christ as the saviour. If anyone that has all this knowledge and experience of the truth rejects Jesus Christ who is the only way to get saved, then there is no way for him to get saved again. He rejected the only way to salvation after tasting of it. Some people might get scared that they have already done this but the fact that you are worried that you have is a sign you have not. Such person will have no conscience for the word of God again; moreover you must have known the truth to an extent of practicing the deep things of the word of God (a matured Christian).

“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.” - Matthew 12:31

The second we find in the book of Matthew 12:31 were Jesus Christ said, if anyone blasphemy again the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven him. This blasphemy is lying against Holy Spirit to suit your purpose even when you know that it is his work. The Pharisees knew that the work of Jesus Christ was from God but just to please themselves they denied it. Many people have condemned many ministers because of the miracles and healing performed by the Holy Spirit through them but mostly unknowingly. If a person knowingly condemns the works of the Holy Spirit done through a minister of God to suit himself, he has blasphemed again the Holy Spirit.

“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” - 1 Corinthians 6:18

From all what we have been talking about from the scriptures, we see that God treats different sins differently. One sin I know God hates very much apart from killing and idolatry, his fornication. The bible says this is the only sin that a man commits against his own self.

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” - 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

This sin kills a person physically and spiritually silently. We are the temple of God, God’s wonderful masterpiece. So destructing your body is destructing God’s temple and greatest work. In these latter days, this is the major sin we find in nations which goes down to the school system. It has been accepted by the world but should be rejected totally by the Church by all means. Paul in 1 Corinthians 5 told the church to not be friends with Christians who commit fornication, moreover if such is corrected and they do not listen, they should be thrown out of the church. As bad as this action may sound, we should only do it in God’s love in order for corrective purpose and it should be a last result.

The Cost and wages of Sin
Many Christians think when they commit a sin, they always get away with it after asking for forgiveness but they don’t know what they have lost or what it cost them.

“For the wages of sin is death; …” - Romans 6:23

The wages of sin has always been death and it will still be death. When we sin as Christians, we might not know this but something dies. It might be a termination of a blessing from God, it might be a manifestation of a disease, it might be your spiritual growth or it might be something that doesn’t show up till later.

“Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.” - 2 Samuel 12:14

You might say it is just once but Adam only disobeyed God once and see where it got mankind (thank God for Jesus Christ), David’s baby died because of his sin of fornication (2 Samuel 12:14). Sin always produces death, even though the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses it and allows us to continue as Christians but we certainly lose or get slowed down spiritually by sin. In the Old Testament, when a man committed certain sins, they were either killed or ostracized from the community.

“And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.” - Leviticus 20:10

Using Leviticus 20:10 as an example, anyone that committed fornication was put to death. If the law at that time permitted death for a sin which many commit daily without any shame, why do we think the New Testament will not carry such punishment? Even though, the New Testament is of grace, the bible says in Hebrews 10:26, if we willfully sin, there is no remission of sin. A person that sins with the full knowledge that what he is doing is sin will surely reap his harvest of death. If we make mistakes with a prior knowledge that it is sin, the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse us when we ask for forgiveness. At my time of weakness over a particular issue, God told me that when He wanted to bless me, I loose it because of my mistake of just a sin. I never knew I was loosing anything till then. Since then my view of sin changed.

“He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.” - Ecclesiastes 10:8

Sin gives the devil access to steal from you and even if the devil does not steal from you, the law is set that sin produces death (Romans 8:2). The cost of sin is far too demanding for Christians or anyone. We might not see the immediate effect or know what we have lost but it certainly does produce death.

The Cure to Sin
At the creation of man, sin was not his problem because he had the nature of God in his spirit, and his soul was totally filled with the knowledge of God.

“For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” - Romans 5:19

He disobeyed God once, fully knowing the truth. Eve was deceived by the devil alright but Adam was not.

“And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” - 1 Timothy 2:14

Adam deliberately chose to sin and that introduced death to mankind. If the woman alone sinned, death would not have reigned in humanity but sin been introduced to mankind immediately brought spiritual death first.

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” - Genesis 6:3

We clearly see the proof of man’s spiritual dead in Genesis 6:3. God said in Genesis 6:3, man is now flesh and because man lived as flesh, He could not live with man. The flesh been weak could only obey its lust to sin which introduces death to him. Man having no spirit could not obey God properly; the only other option was to obey his flesh. Even though the Ten Commandments were given to man, he could not keep them perfectly because he was spiritually dead.

“For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.” - Romans 7:14

The law itself was spiritual and therefore requires a man in spirit to obey it perfectly.

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” - Ezekiel 36:26

The only solution to sin was for man to have a new spirit in the image of God. And that solution came through Jesus Christ through his death and resurrection. The death of Jesus Christ represents the death to his flesh and his resurrection the birth of a new spirit to those that believe. This is why Jesus Christ called the term born again in John 3:3. You might wonder, why did God come as a man (Jesus Christ) to die for us? Man was created in the image of God and could only be renewed to that image by God only if his sins were paid for by God. God as God in spirit could not go through death except He comes in the flesh. That is why he came as Jesus Christ to redeem man. The driving force for this action was his love for man (John 3:16).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16

God has offered his hands of help through Jesus Christ. It is for anyone that wants it to take it. You can’t be giving someone a new car for free and he is rejecting it. As a Child, I played games like Mario Bros were you can get extra life in the game. I always go for the extra life and anyone would too. God has offered us life for free. The fact that your life depends on it shows the importance of salvation. When a man is sick, he rushes to the hospital to take treatment to get well but an unbeliever is spiritually sick and needs to rush to Jesus Christ for the cure. I know if anyone came to the full realization that their life depended on receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, they will rush for it immediately.

The fact still remains that salvation is optional. Jesus Christ paid the entire price and it is free to receive, all that is needed is to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If anyone is not born again, he certainly doesn’t have the ability to stop sinning. He or She might have tried to stop sinning but will never be able to because of one thing missing, the grace of God which gives every born again Christian the ability to stop sinning by giving them a new spirit and a way out when they make mistakes. Even when Christians have the ability to stop sinning (born again), they are not totally perfect in using this ability until their minds are totally renewed. That is why the bible says in Romans 12:2, that Christians should renew their mind daily. 1 John 2:1 says every born again Christian has an advocate with the father if he sin. This means that when they make mistakes and ask forgiveness, their sins will be forgiven because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” - Romans 10:9

If you are not born again and desire to be, all you have to do as we said before is to believe Jesus Christ died and rose again for you. Then Confess Him as your Lord by saying this prayer below out loud with your mouth, believing every word of it.

Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and wash me with your precious blood. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. I believe I am now a child of God. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you said this prayer in faith and believing, Please write to us and let us know about this good news, in order for us to tell you more on how to live your new life.

Why Christians Sin after been born again?
One thing gives sin its power and that is our flesh. The weakness of the flesh allows humans sin.

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” - 1 John 2:16

The three ways the devil attacks anyone is listed in 1 John 2:16 and they are focused on the flesh. If we live with our flesh still active, we will fall into sin.

“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” - Romans 8:8

It is not possible to please God in the flesh. The only way anyone can fully serve God is to put the flesh to death but it is done in a gradual process. Many Christians still live parallel lives, their flesh on one side and their spirit dormant on the other side. As long as the two co-exist, their will be a war in doing the will of God. We will be talking of two things that will help a born again Christian to serve God in full in this section.

Many Christians get born again but never know what to do next or never do anything about their salvation; therefore they remain as baby Christians, still continuing to walk in the carnality of their mind. It is not possible to give birth to a child and not feed him. If you do not feed a baby, he will surely not grow physically, so does this apply spiritually.

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” - 1 Peter 2:2

Once a person gets born again, he has to feed on the word of God in order to grow spiritually. If a Christian does not feed on the word of God, he will still be working in his old mindset. The word of God is not only a spiritual food for born again Christians (Matt 4:4) but also a map for their path in this life (Psalm 119:105). If Christians don’t read it, there will be no precise knowledge of what to do after they are born again neither will they know who they are in Christ Jesus. It is important to know who you are in Christ Jesus, except you will not be able to behave the way you should. If a cat thought he was a rat, he will always be running from other cats, even if he is bigger than them. So one of the reasons why people sin when they are born again is the fact that they are ignorant of the full truth of God's word (revelation).

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." - Matthew 26:41

The second thing that makes Christians sin after been born again is due to a poor prayer life. The bible clearly says we should pray without season. Prayer is one of the greatest weapons of a Christian, if well used and directed. Prayer strengthens Christians in their weaknesses against temptation. I found out that the days I don’t pray very well before leaving home, I become more susceptible to temptation. I will say every Christians should pray at least one hour in the morning because Jesus Christ talked about praying for at least one hour in Matthew 26:40. Prayer can also come into use for protection. When Christian fellowship with God through prayer, they get spiritually sensitive to God and by this get to know Him more.

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." - Hebrews 4:16

Fellowshipping with God through prayer gives Christians access into the presence of God to get more of his grace. It is clear that we didn’t do anything to get saved, so why do Christians still think that they can stop sinning on their own after been born again. They still need God's help to stay clean from sin. Been born again is just the first step of stopping sin.

"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." - Romans 8:13

In Romans 8:13, the bible says if we through the spirit kill the deeds of our body, we shall live. We clearly see that we need the Holy Spirit's help to live as Christians and to kill our fleshly desires and this help comes when we spend time praying.

There is an important word we find in Matthew 26:41 which is "Watch". To watch is to be vigilant, to be alert, to be awake. This doesn't mean we should open our eyes and be looking around when we pray but it means we should pray with our minds focused on God and in his will. When most Christians pray, they get distracted by cares and worries. That is an act of not watching when praying. Prayer should be focused on a purpose and the person you are praying to in order to get it right, so when praying we have to watch and pray.

We have talked on two things Christians must do frequently and daily in order to stay away from temptation which are reading the bible and fellowshipping with God through prayer. The word empowers our spirit to grow while prayer kills the flesh from hindering the word from taking effect or from hampering spiritual growth. One cannot do without the other, if you must have maximum effect. In all this we must recognize that when we read the bible and pray, it is the Holy Spirit that helps us make meaning out of it.

What to do when you sin as a believer
As I said earlier, it is clear that we will certainly make mistakes as we grow in Christ. In any mistake, we should learn and move on.

"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." - 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Mistakes are not meant to be our lessons but the word of God should be. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, its says there is no temptation that will happen to any Christian today that we don't have an example of it in the bible to learn from before hand. It is only when we don't read the bible and meditate on it that we will not be able to identify the devil's traps. One excuse that Christians give when they fall into temptation is that the temptation was too much for them or overcame them but still in the same verse 13 in 1 Corinthians 10, it is clear that no temptation we come across as Christians will be greater than us; it can be handled and moreover there will always be a way out. This means no temptation can overcome Christians except they allow it.

“Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.” - Hebrews 10:18

God knowing that we may make mistakes while growing up as a Christians made a way out to cleanse us by a single sacrifice. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ paid for our past, present and future sins. So what we do when we make mistakes is to quickly ask for forgiveness and repent in sincerity. If we allow the sin to linger on without repentance, we will backslide. The blood of Jesus Christ will never lose its power, so let us not be afraid to ask for forgiveness when we make mistakes and we shouldn’t think God won’t forgive us no matter how grievous the sin was.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” - Romans 6:1-2

The grace of God is something Christians should not play with. Many Christians play with God’s grace by willfully sinning in view to ask for forgiveness late. Other times people sin because it has become a stronghold on them or they have lust. Paul says in Romans 6:2 that sin is no more our nature as Christians; so doing something that is not in your nature will certainly mean something is wrong somewhere. After we are born again, we have to press forward towards a sinless life by the grace of God; we should not continue sinning purposely in view to ask for God’s mercy. Some people believe that once you are born again, you can continue sinning because they think their sins are once and forever cleansed even after they sin without asking for forgiveness. If anyone is willfully sinning, he is abusing the shed blood of Christ and putting himself in the danger of physical and eternal death.

Israel as an example for us
The story of Israel is a good example for Christians to learn from. When they where in sin they fell and were tramped on by their enemies, and when they repented they were exalted by God above all other nations. There were even times they were driven out of their land because for their sins.

“But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. “ - 1 Corinthians 10:5-11

Every sin the Israelites committed has a result and it cost many lives. In the 1 Corinthians 10:5, it is said that these things are an example for us not to be idolaters, fornicators, murmur or tempt God, or lust after evil. So let us learn from these examples.

Conclusion
In conclusion to this message, sin is an evil that leads to death. It should be abhorred by everyone. Sin gives access to the devil and it is the reason why man once fell short of the glory of God and it will still be the reason why God’s glory can’t shine through his Children today. God’s desire for everyone is to be like Him, righteous and holy. In order for us to be like God we have to walk with Him, first be becoming born again and then following his instruction through his word and the Holy Spirit.

Sin’s power over man is because of man’s flesh. In order for Christians to stop sin, they must kill the desires of the flesh by the help of the Holy Spirit and live by their spirit. We have mentioned two things that will make Christians grow out of sin which is reading the bible to do what it says and fellowshipping with God through prayer. We should not depend on our strength but the Holy Spirit when doing any of these things because it is not by power or might but by the Spirit of God. If Christians do these two things daily and as often as they can, they will find themselves growing out of sin. It is clear from the bible that those are the two major things that make Christians mature in Christ. Without these two things, Christians will still struggle with sin. I will encourage Christians to take these two things more important than anything else in this world. I have applied it to my life and it works, you should try it too, in order to see yourself change towards a sinless life in Christ.
