The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

The message on the second coming of Jesus Christ has many views in which I have been listening to different ministers and looking through different commentaries but most views say that Jesus Christ is coming literally the second time the way He came the first time in order to rule over the earth and I totally agree with that. This message is an important message because it is the whole point and reason why God created man, why Jesus came and will come again. It also points to the end of our existence in this life and the beginning of eternity with Christ in which many have lost that focus and others don't even know. My fear is not the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ but the number of people that will perish at his coming and my hope is to be able to touch as many people as I can before then. I have said prayers to God several times before now to delay his second coming and to give more time for more people to hear the gospel in order to get them saved but He told me that I should hurry up to do what He told me to do because He is coming soon. God is not planning to change the time of his second coming and surely those that think He is not coming soon or that think He is taking too long to come will find out as we continue in this message that God has set a sure time which He alone knows but we only know the seasons of this time from the bible. God has spoken to me over six (6) times in dreams and audible voice of his soon arrival. I also have a friend who was recently called into ministry and was told of the urgency to preach the gospel because of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. I must tell you the truth, these times we live in are the very end of the end. Many Christians are eager to go to heaven but I am not yet because I have a task to do and I am not yet done.

"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" - 2 Timothy 4:6-7

Paul had finished his God given ministry on earth and was confident to say that. The only reason why Christians will want to leave this world without finishing their God given purpose on earth will be because they don't know it or are rejecting it. Every Christian has a unique purpose on earth and they have to seek God in order for Him to reveal it to them. When you know your purpose, you will not want to leave this earth till you fulfil it (even though some still don't).

In the course of this message, I will want to enlighten you through the word of God and help of the Holy Spirit to know about the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and what it was for, the season of the second coming, the purpose of his second coming, those that will be saved, the rapture, the significance of Israel and much more. This message is so vast that I many not be able to cover it all now but I will want to cover as much as I can in order to preach the simple truth Jesus Christ laid before us concerning his second coming in his word, to tell everyone that this time is closer than we think, to inform Christians of what God has always expected them to do and to do more fervently at this time than ever.

The First Coming of Jesus Christ
The fact that the man called Jesus Christ came to earth over two thousand (2000) years ago is recognized by all major religions and there are historical facts to prove that but the controversy has been over deity and his resurrection from death. To look closely at the scriptures, the first coming of Jesus Christ was predicted thousands of years before Jesus Christ was born.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6

There are several scriptures that clearly predicted the first coming of the Lord and his death in which one is in a common verse, Isaiah 9:6, which we all use especially during Christmas season. In this verse we clearly see the birth of Jesus (a child is born) and his death (a son is given) and even his second coming (the government shall be upon his shoulder).

"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." - Micah 5:2

Even to be more definite, the place of the birth of Jesus Christ was given in the bible which we find in Micah 5:2. The book of Micah was over 680 years before the coming of Christ. In Matthew 2:1, we will read that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem which confirmed this prophecy.

"Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." - Daniel 9:25

We have shown from scriptures that the information about the first coming of Christ and that the place of his first coming was given through the bible prior to that time but more shocking information was given, the time of his first coming. I wonder how the Jews could have missed Christ even when they knew that that was the time He promised to first come? The truth of it was that most of Jews where expecting the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ but never knew what his purpose was and they also thought that he was coming only once to rule, they didn't know that He was coming twice in which the first was to redeem us from our sin by dying on the cross to rise up again, but even at that the bible clearly spoke several times in the Old Testament of his death. I just think most of them where blinded with pride. It was clearly shown from the bible in John 1 that several people were expecting Jesus Christ; John the Baptist was expecting Him in which we can see from the conversation between John the Baptist and the priests and Levites, they asked John the Baptist if he was the Christ in which He said no (John 1:19-20). Still in John 1, a man Nathanael was expecting Jesus Christ too and so where some of his 12 disciples i.e. John, Peter, etc. In Luke 2:25-26, a man, Simeon, was told by God that He will not die till He sees Jesus Christ and so did he. There where lots of Jews expecting the coming of Jesus Christ. From Daniel 9:25, a time of seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks which means 483 years. A score means twenty (20) and a week we all know is 7. Threescore and two weeks will be (20 x 3) +2 which will be 62 weeks and as we know that a week means 7, 62 weeks will be 62 x 7 = 434 years. But before the threescore and two weeks there is a 7 weeks which is 7 x 7 = 49 years. The total of 49 + 434 years is 483 years. The reason why it was divided to two parts was for a particular reason. From the decree for the rebuild of the temple to the time the temple and wall was completed took a total of forty-nine (49) years which was the first part of the time period given to Daniel 9:26; the other four hundred and thirty-four (434) years was from the time of completion of the temple and wall to the time of Christ's first coming. We now clearly see why the years were divided into two parts.

From all these scriptures, the period of the first coming of Jesus Christ could easily be determined right from the time of Daniel which was over 500 years before that time. The second coming was not given a particular time but seasons to identify it. We will be looking into that as we start talking on the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The Reasons for the Christ's First Coming

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:19

Jesus Christ's first coming was to reconcile man to himself and to restore Him back to the glory He gave him before the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. Instead of us dying in our sins, He took it upon himself to replace us. Jesus Christ's death on the cross was a payment for our sins but we must believe and accept the fact that Jesus died and rose again first before we can receive this priceless gift for free.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17

I have once explained in one of the previous message about the trinity of man (spirit, soul and body). I said the spirit is the real man and anyone that is not born again doesn't have the spirit of God which is in the image of God (Colossian 3:10), and as long as a man doesn't have a spirit he can not have a relationship with God because God is a spirit (John 4:24). If we look further into the bible in Genesis 6:3, man was identified as flesh because of his dead spirit and as long as a man lives in the flesh he will keep on sinning which results to death (Romans 6:23). Once a man believes that Jesus Christ died and rose again, and according to Romans 10:9, confesses it with his mouth, 2 Corinthians 5:17 kicks into action which means that he or she becomes like Jesus Christ in spirit. So why are many Christians, born again, still living totally like unbelievers? This is why in an earlier message said man is a trinity (spirit, soul and body). The first coming of Jesus Christ only takes care of the spirit of man, after then a process of renewing of the soul commence to change man to be like his spirit which is in the image of Christ through the help of the Holy Spirit.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:2

Romans 12:2 calls this process the renewing of the mind. That is why we have Christians that are really born again but yet are still behaving like unbelievers. If a man is not first born again, he can never have the ability to be able to be righteous in his soul.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." - Romans 12:1

Romans 12:1 also talks about the presenting of our body to be holy. If a man through the help of the Holy Spirit can totally renew his mind on earth he will find it easy to present his body as a living sacrifice to God but this body can not carry all the glory God has made available to us through the knowledge of his son. The only solution to this is having glorified body which we can only have on the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The spirit of a man is the only perfect thing a man has when he gets born again, which is in the image of God. You may wonder the reason for having a spirit when your soul and body is not saved together but it is a process that must begin first from the spirit to give you ability to change the soul and take control of the flesh. A car can never fly except it was design or changed to a plane, so a man cannot renew his soul without having a spirit. Most Christians was to work for God to earn salvation but God gives us salvation in order to work in it. Once we get born again, we are a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) but the soul is not new. But we now have the ability to change our soul to be who God has made us as we renew our mind daily. That is the only way we will be able to distinct a Christian that is born again from one that his not. As long as Christian don't renewing their mind in the word of God daily, they will only be church goers who will keep behaving like their unbelieving self.

As I said the gift of salvation is free, all you have to do is to believe in what Jesus Christ did on the cross and confess it with your mouth.

"Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." - Romans 10:9

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:" - 2 Peter 1:3

Once a person gets born again, three things are made available to him: (1) The ability to renew his soul to be like his spirit by the help of the Holy Spirit (2) Divine Health (3) Wealth. Most times ministers who have walked out of the faith or were never called to be ministers at first preach one sided messages. Either they preach totally on wealth or totally on healing. Seldom will you find someone preach totally on sanctification of the soul and the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. In anyway, the message of God is balanced and equally divided. You must preach all the truth, if people like it or not. The major reason why a one sided message is preached is because of lust for wealth and fame or for pride. A minister of God who is walking with the Holy Spirit will always be told what to preach and when to preach it, and in this way will hardly fall into that pitfall. As we look into the state of the Church in our next message prior to the second coming of the Jesus Christ, we will find out that majority of the problem Christ talked about was on false prophets and teachers. They were in the time of Paul (the early church) and still are around now and will still be around in increasingly overwhelming numbers till Christ comes.

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15

When Christians start renewing their mind they will find out that the whole reason why the first and the second coming were spaced apart by many years. Once a person gets saved, he has been called to tell people about the testimony of Jesus Christ both in his life and his speech.

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." - Matthew 24:14

In Matthew 24:14, we see that the end will not come till the gospel has been preached to all the nations. So a Christian that gets saved is saved to save others, to tell people about the first and second coming of the Lord Jesus as they renew their minds. If Jesus Christ didn't want it like that He would rapture anyone to heaven once they get saved or He would have gotten people saved few days before their death or his second coming. I believe there are some people who say that they will get born again later but I tell you, you never know when it is too late to be tomorrow, moreover you will not have accomplish your God given destiny, and you will account for that. I really can't imagine someone discovering Gold and not telling everybody about it. The word of God is more than pure gold and it is priceless. It is something we all should be proud to tell others.

The two main purpose of the Jesus Christ’s first coming was to reconcile us to God (to get us born again) in order to have access into our inheritance through the renewing of our minds by the word of God and also to give us a ministry of reconciliation which is to preach the Gospel to all mankind.

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
There are so different views about the second coming of Christ but I will just try not to debate about most issues but what I think is necessary because my intention is not to be right but to let everyone know the basic truth that Jesus Christ is coming sooner than we can imagine and also bring to light the season surrounding it. Let me first address some come questions of the second coming of Christ.

Will Christ come back the second time and will we see Him with our physical eyes?

"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." - Acts 1:9-11

I have clearly presented to you in the earlier part of this message, prove that the time and the place of birth of the first coming of Jesus Christ was prophesied several years before then, and we also have a sure word of his second coming. If the prophecy of his first coming was right, then we should be certain that the prophecy of his second coming is going to be right too. Acts 1:9-11 describes how Jesus was taken up into heaven and that He is coming back in like manner.

"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." - Revelation 1:7

His second coming will be apparent to all not only to a set of people. Both the spiritual and physical world will see Jesus Christ coming in his true glory with all of the saints and angels of heaven. At that day, Jesus will truly be know as the only and true LORD by everything.

When will Christ come again?
Dear beloved, you are not the only one that has been asking this question, before you asked the Jews did. The Jews have been expecting that day (but in a view that He has not come the first time), the disciples of Jesus Christ asked that in Acts 1:6, and many are still asking that till today.

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." - 2 Peter 3:8-10

The truth of it is that no man knows the exact time but we have been given so many events that will point to that time and these events are currently evident today. Jesus said I will come like a thief in the night. It is when the world is lest expecting it that Jesus Christ will come but Christians ought not to be ignorant of it. And that is why I write as led by the Holy Spirit in order to make sure that my conscience is clear towards all, and to turn many hearts toward God in love.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" - Acts 2:17

The end times kicked off since the birth of the Church. The Prophet, Joel prophesied this and It came to pass about two thousand years ago. Daniel the prophet in Daniel 12:20 was told to seal up the prophecy till the last days but when a full revelation of the prophecy of what was given to Daniel was given to John, God told him not to seal it.

"And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand." - Revelation 22:10

The reason was because the time of the end had started. The end time has its own end and as I said before I believe we are in the end of the end. According to Peter in 2 Peter 3:8-10, God is not slack as many think, one day is not passing that day the Lord has set for his second coming. As I write now, God already knows when He is coming back; it is we that don't know the exact time. God is merciful and He is giving men time to repent. We should all accept his mercy and gift of love now and not later.

What is Christ coming to do?

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." - Daniel 9:24

The simple reason is to put an end to sin, establish righteousness and He will rule forever.

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." - Revelation 20:12

To do this, Jesus Christ must judge every man according to his works both good and bad. Jesus Christ loves us alright but He will have to judge those that reject Him. We reject Jesus Christ when we refuse to believe and obey Him. The penalty has been laid down for sin and rejecting Christ. It was a penalty for the devil alone but man has bought into it by sin. God in order to stop sin forever must eradicate all forms of sin and anything that is sinful. That is why that day must come. Jesus Christ loves us so much that He is repeatedly giving all of us a chance to repent, I have embraced Him wholeheartedly and will desire you do the same. It is a free gift; receive Jesus Christ into your life today. I don't see someone giving you a plane and you are rejecting it, preferring to swim in a pool where sharks are. The purpose of Christ's second coming is clear to us by now. Most times people are afraid of that day when something triggers it and after sometime forget all about when they get entangled with the affairs of this world. We must continually have his in mind the second coming of Jesus Christ to keep us alert towards God.

What is the rapture and when will it happen?
The word rapture never appeared in the bible once but it is clear from the scripture that a scenario of such happened in the bible. From the dictionary the word "rapture" has two main meaning (1) The state of being transported by a lofty emotion; ecstasy. (2) The transporting of a person from one place to another, especially to heaven. The latter fits the contest. I have heard that some people say that the rapture has already happened because they base their meaning on the former. A clearer picture of the word rapture (using the second meaning) can be revealed from the scriptures.

"Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left." - Luke 17:33-36

In Luke 17:33-36, we see that people will be taken suddenly and some will be left, which describes the word rapture.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Another good verse to describe the rapture is 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. Everyone in Christ both the dead and the living will meet Jesus in the air. All this will happen just before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The event of the rapture is all over the bible even though it was not written as the word rapture. If we look well at Luke 17, we will see that it talked about Noah leaving before the judgement of God was passed, it also tells us about Lot leaving Sodom before the judgement of God was passed and so will the Christians leave before the judgement of God is visited on the earth. There are basically two views about the rapture; One view is that the rapture happens before the great tribulation, the other view believes that the rapture will happen after the great tribulation. My view is that of the former but in any case we should be ready for any. I know many Christians including myself will prefer the former because we will want to escape the great tribulation. That is the more reason we should be prepared for it now and not after it happens. When I start talking on the Book of Revelation in the next message, I will point out where I think the rapture may occur and why I think it is before or in the early stages of the great tribulation.

What are the Signs of Second Coming of Christ?
We have seen the signs of the coming of Jesus all over but yet still ignore them and get distracted from that fact. The major Chapters of the bible that tells us about the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ are Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 18, 1 Thessalonians 4, 2 Thessalonians 2 and Revelation 6 but I will major my description from Matthew 24 and Revelation 6.

On the breaking of the first seal in Revelation 6, a man that had a crown on his head and a bow in his hand rode a white horse to conquer. Some people believe this horse may be Jesus but I totally believe it is not. Firstly, Jesus Christ has already conquered (Matthew 28:18). Secondly, Jesus Christ would never fight with a bow but with the sword of his mouth (the word). Thirdly, Jesus Christ was the one opening the seals and so therefore he could not at the same time be the one on the horse. Looking in parallel with Matthew 24:4-5, the first thing Jesus Christ talked about was deception. I believe this man on the white horse is the spirit of the antichrist working in false teachers and prophets presently deceiving many and will still continue to do that till Christ comes. We currently see false teachers and prophets in our society today who are conquering the souls of many by their false doctrines and there is still more deception to come, which will even be able to deceive the elect. When the second seal was broken, a red horse went out with a man given power to take peace from the earth and to cause war. The world currently has no peace with incidents of 911, the middle-east crisis, terrorist attacks, wars and rumours of wars all over the world. Matthew 24:6-7 collaborates with this event of the 2nd seal. When the third seal will be opened, a black horse with a man who had a measuring scale will be sent out. The mission of this man on a black horse is to bring famine to the earth. We currently have famine in several countries in Central Africa (Ethiopia, Sudan, Mozambique, etc) and other parts of the world, and it is getting worse by the year. This year has been the worse than every other year and has killed so many people already. Matthew 24:7 parallels with the black horse. On the opening of the fourth seal, a pale horse went out with one who was called Death and Hell, who was given power over a quarter of the earth and with that power he could kill people with war, famine, pestilence and wild animals. We have had in quick succession several pestilences like AIDS, SARS, Ebola, Avian Flu, etc. We have had increased rate of animal attacks in which species of animals that don't normally attack people are now do so. There was a case recently in the USA that a woman that was jogging was chased, and killed by an Alligator. We see great earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and all kinds of natural disasters occurring in converging short intervals. I personally believe the first four (4) seals are broken right now giving way for the fifth seals to be broken. I may be wrong but all facts point that it has. We have trivialized all the incidents that has being happening to warn us of the second coming of the Lord and have soon forgotten the tsunamis, the earthquakes, hurricanes, the wars (Israel-Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.), the weather changes (recently in USA very high temp that killed people, melting Ice beds, etc.), and much more. As the days go by, we shall be seeing a more visible manifestation of the first four (4) seals. It is time for everyone to wake up to the reality of this fact in order to repent and start serving God with a true heart.

On the breaking of the 5th seal, we are ushered back to the heavenly realm and we see an altar in heaven opened. The souls of the martyred saints came from under it and they were given white robes symbolizing righteousness. They demanded the avenging of their death but they were told to wait a like while till the remaining of them that will be martyred is complete. In Revelation 7:14, the bible talks about the great multitude of saints from all tribes and nations who had come out of the great tribulation but never mention when, therefore I clearly believe the rapture happened on or between the opening of the 4th and 6th seal even though it was not mention clearly.

"And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:" - 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8

I believe 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 is referring to the Church when it talks about he that letteth. Until the Church is out of the way, the antichrist will not be given full authority of the world system and we all know the time of the rapture is determined by God. Jesus said I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. It is not possible for the church to be around and the antichrist to function fully.

"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." - Matthew 24:12-14

Looking at Matthew 24:12-14 and comparing it to the falling away in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, we can say that the falling away is the same thing as the love of many will waxing cold, also called the apostasy. Many are falling away from the faith today, putting on a form of godliness but denying the power of the gospel. Some have totally abundant it and have started following after other gods like religion and money. As the days go by, more people shall fall away from the faith. This is another sign of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ but yet the gospel will still be preached in all nations and then the end shall come. The propagation of the gospel is given to the Church and until it raptures the gospel will continue to be preached. The end here is not the very end of the end but the end of the church age and the beginning of the rain of the antichrist. At this time we shall be able to know the number of years left for the world to end. At this time their will be a great tribulation like never seen or heard of in the world. People have a chance to serve God willing now but at that time they will be forced to serve the devil. I look at many people now and I wonder if they will be able to stand that great tribulation when they cannot even stand the small trials of now. If you want to avoid that great tribulation, it is time to forsake the world and embrace Jesus Christ. Get born again and serve Him, his yoke is light.

Before the Sixth seal is opened the great tribulation will take place. How do I know this?

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:” - Matthew 24:29

Looking at Matthew 24:29, we know that the tribulation was before the falling of the stars of heaven which begun the events of the sixth seal.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
- Matthew 24:15

We also know from Matthew 24:15 that there will be a revealing of the antichrist. Revelation 13 tells us in much detail about is appearing. From Daniel 12:7, we clearly know that his reign is going to for three and a half years. The antichrist is actual a man filled with the spirit of the devil, we know from the last verse in Revelation 13. The dragon, the devil, gave him power and he was allowed to blasphemy against God for three and a half years, and with that power he made everything on earth worship him (indirectly worshipping Satan) and he exalted himself above everything that was called God. This is the same abomination of desolation Jesus Christ talked about in Matthew 24:15 and Daniel talked about in Daniel 9:27. Some people believe this time has already passed but that couldn’t be possible because this book (Revelation) was written in 90AD after an example of this abomination of desolation in 168BC when Antiochus IV Epiphanes desecrated the temple by sacrificed a pig on the altar. Also Jesus Christ predicted this abomination just before his death at about 30AD which is far from the 168BC. Others also think it may have been when the Romans destroyed the temple in 70AD which is also before 90AD when Revelation was written.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” - Daniel 9:27

Neither Antiochus IV Epiphanes nor the Roman Empire make a peace treaty with Israel for three and half years before breaking it. This event is yet to happen and will happen after the rapture of the Church. Some people think the seventy (70) weeks of Daniel where just continuous but never saw in between the lines. First of all they were divided for a purpose into seven weeks, forty-two (42) weeks and one (1) week. The Church age was in between the forty-two (42) weeks and the one (1) week. It is a time of grace given to the gentiles while the Jews are blinded. We can read more of this from Ephesians 3:1-10.

“Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;” - Ephesians 3:5

God hid this time of grace from the old testament believes and only revealed after the death of Christ. In Daniel 9:24, the angel clearly said this time of the seventy weeks was for the people of Daniel, which clearly refers to the Jews alone. Daniel 11 tells us of the example of the abomination of desolation by Antiochus IV and doesn’t refer it as the one to come in the future.

The opening of the 6th seal in Revelation 6:12 takes the view back to what wass happen on earth. There was a great earthquake and the stars of heaven fell unto earth. These stars are not the physical stars we see now because even the smallest star is bigger than the earth and they are also as hot as the sun. If it was really talking about the physical stars, it would have written that the earth was the one that fell on a star. In Revelation 1:20, we know that angels are symbolized as stars. These stars are fallen angels which will be cast down to earth as we know Satan is the prince of the air for now (Ephesians 2:2). We have a clearer picture of this fall in Revelation 12. It is clear from the opening of 6th seal that God sets a stage for his judgement, from these judgement men will try to hide themselves from it. They will want to kill themselves because they know their end has come but will not be able to do it by themselves. This will usher in the second coming of Christ. There are two ways to be with the Lord in the second coming. The first is before the opening sixth seal which I believe the rapture will happen and second is passing through the great tribulation after the rapture. In any case, I think we all should be ready for the second coming of Christ.

What is the relevance of Israel at the Second Coming?
Now we see the Israelites blinded from knowing Jesus Christ as the Messiah because they rejected Him when He first came.

“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” - Matthew 23:39

Jesus Christ still loves the physical Israel and will return to them after the Church age has finished which happen after the time of the rapture. We see that in Revelation 7, Jesus will seal 144,000 people from Israel to pass through the great tribulation. In Revelation 14, we see the first place Jesus Christ visits is Israel. We also see that in Revelation 12 and 13 that all along Satan has been attacking Israel as a nation. Since Israel has been a nation, it had never known peace. It recently has a war with Lebanon and I know that there will still be more. We see Iran constantly saying it will destroy Israel. In fact, nearly all the problem we have today in this world in based on Israel as a nation. This should be a clear sign that Satan knows that Israel is significant. Satan never disturbs those that serve him.

“I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,” - Romans 11:1-2

God has clearly not forsaken Israel as we read from Romans 11:1-2. I have heard people say that the Jews are not a special people or they are not better than us. They are not better that us alright neither are they less than us once we are born again. The goal of Christ is to unite the Jews and Gentiles in one body through Jesus Christ, so that their will be one man. The Jews will certainly recognize Jesus as Lord before the second coming of the Lord.

Summary of the Book of Revelation
There are two things we must put into consideration when reading the book of Revelation. The first is that the book is a symbolic book where we have to understand what each symbol means. Most times the meaning of a symbol can be found in the same book of Revelation. The second is not to assume each chapter follows each other. Most times a chapter gives us an elaborate detail of a previous chapter.

Chapter 1 gives us a quick introduction of Jesus Christ as God Almighty and gives us some of the meaning of the symbols we will be seeing through the book.

Chapter 2 and 3 talks us about the state of the church and what needs to be corrected.

Chapter 4 and 5 talks about what was happening in heaven and introduces Jesus Christ in chapter 5 as the only one with authority over the events that will dictate the end.

Chapter 6 talks about the opening of the first six seals of the scroll. Each opening tells us of events that will lead to the end.

Chapter 7 talks about the time of the rapture and the sealing of the 144,000 elects of God in order to be able to pass through the great tribulation. This chapter probably happened before or during the sixth seal.

Chapter 8 talks of the opening of the seventh seal which begin the partial judgement of God by the sounding of seven trumpets by seven angels. Four of the trumpets were sounded in this chapter.

Chapter 9 talks on sounding of the fifth and sixth trumpet. It tells us of events that will happen during the great tribulation.

Chapter 10 talks of a small scroll which ushers us in the final and total judgement of God on the earth.

Chapter 11 talks about the two witnesses which will be preach in Jerusalem during the great tribulation.

Chapter 12 actually talks about what Satan has been doing behind the scene and his attack on the Church till the time of the antichrist which continues in Chapter 13.

Chapter 13 talks about the revelation of the two beasts and their short rule. The first is the antichrist and the second the false prophets.

Chapter 14 talks about the Second Coming of the Lord for his 144,000 elect and those that kept the word of God.

Chapter 15 and 16 talks on the final and total judgement of the earth by seven vials poured on the earth.

Chapter 17 and 18 talks about the judgement of the nations called Babylon.

Chapter 19 talks about the marriage feast of the Lamb and the destruction of the beast.

Chapter 20 talks about the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth and final judgement of the dead.

Chapter 21 and 22 rounds us the book by telling us about the New Jerusalem.

By the grace of God, we have been about to give you a summary and breakdown of the book of Revelation. We encourage you to read for yourself. In our next message, we giving a more comprehensive book of Revelation. You may have difference in opinion to some of the things I have written but I want to say we must agree that Jesus is coming the second time to pay every man for his work. We have to put this hope in view and allow it to shape our lives because I know his coming is close you.

How to Prepare for his Second Coming
Many people delay their time of salvation by saying I will accept Christ later, let me enjoy myself first. That is a trap of the devil which is leading you on a path of death which makes you live this life in constant fear and also giving the devil access to your life. We constantly live in world that death walks around looking for his next victim. Today you see someone healthy, tomorrow you hear that he/she dead. Even If the second coming many not have come, a man that dies has already got that time.

“(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” - 2 Corinthians 6:2

This is the day of salvation embrace it by praying the salvation prayer which we have written below, believing Jesus Christ died and rose again for you. I beg you to accept this free gift today. It has already been paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.

"Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." - Romans 10:9

Second step for preparation of the second coming Christ is to be a witness.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” - Mark 16:15

God gave us the great commission which is not just for the five (5) fold ministry but also for everybody that is saved (born again).

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” - Matthew 24:14

From Matthew 24:14, we know that until the gospel is preached to everyone in the world will the end come. The end totally depends on the gospel that we now preach by the grace of God and that God wants all of us to preach. You many wonder how you can preach the Gospel. All you have to do is tell them your experience at salvation, invite people to fellowship and church, get tracks and share, and best of all live a holy Christian life. There are many ways of preaching the word of God without even speaking. I saw on a Christian TV recently, people using IPOD to share the gospel. They made video messages and gave people to watch, and people got saved. How wonderful was that. I have seen some evangelist use video films to preach the word of God too. God has sent us all over the world, looks and corners, in our job places and as we walk on the streets to share the gospel. It is not meant to be an occasional event or when your pastor or leader tells you “we are going to preach the gospel on Saturday”. Preaching the gospel is a lifestyle. Incorporate it in your life today and you will see how interesting it his. I sometimes pick people that are waiting for a cab and share the word of God with them. Just let the Holy Spirit led you by preparing your mind towards it.

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” - Daniel 12:3

You are wise when you preach the gospel and in Daniel 12:3, the bible says they will shine as the stars. Your reward is in heaven and not only on earth but the best way to ever maintain a constant zeal to preach the gospel is love. If you love those out there, you will not want to see them go to hell because it is not a nice place, you will even not want to see your enemies go there.

You can’t be preaching the gospel without also preaching to yourself first. You have to read the bible and see yourself get changed by it daily. If you see that you are not making progress in your Christian life, pray about it and look for what must be hindering you from going forward. Christianity is a constant life of change to be like Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Conclusion
We have clearly seen that the end is close and that there is no more time to play around. The prophecy of the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ was fulfilled and the second will surely be fulfilled soon too. We have to get serious with our Christian life. It is not meant to be different from our normal life but our normal life should be our Christian life. It is time to stop been short sighted and start looking forward for a better hope which will soon come. If I told you that I will give you $10 billion if you will stay in prison for just a year and you know I am serious. You will be more than willing to do so. Some people are will to stay locked up in a show called Big Brother for just some thousands of dollars.

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” - 2 Timothy 4:6-8

The price God is willing to give us for following Him is priceless compared to $10 billion dollars. Paul knew that and fought a good fight for it. People are will to forsake all they are doing for a trivial amount of money. In a TV show called Fear Factor, some people are ready to endure hardship for small amount of money that will not be able to sustain them for a month. We, as Christians, should also be ready to endure everything the world has to throw at us for the crown of righteous that awaits us, if not for the love of God, and if not for either then for the same of the judgement to come. Until we get our eyes totally on Jesus Christ and the hope of his second coming, we will always be distracted from getting to our point of high calling and fulfilling it.
