Pride - (the Greater Sin)

Pride
What is pride?
Pride has been a sin that has hindered many people from coming to God or working with God. Let me start by reading this verse; blessed are the Meek for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God (Matt 5:6). Meek means humility. God hates pride and will always resist it.

"When pride cometh, then cometh shame; but with the humble is Wisdom.” - (Proverbs 11:2)

Only an humble person can come to God for mercy and forgiveness. It is pride that made God throw the devil out of Heaven. (Isaiah 14:14-23). God gave the Lucifer (now the devil) great glory. The bible calls Lucifer the son of the morning but now he is now the son of the pit, hell and darkness. The devil wanted to be like God and he proposed in his heart to make a throne as high as God's throne, so that all we come to worship him like God, the Most High, instead he got thrown out of Heaven and became even worse off in shame and without any power. The Devil is powerless except you live and give him control over your life (Colossian 2:10, Revelation 1:18). You are greater than the devil (Rev 20:10), a son to the most high through Jesus Christ our Lord (Only if you are Born Again) (John 1:12). If you only humble yourself like the woman who fell to her kneels to wash Jesus' feet with her tears and clean it with her hair, Jesus will restore you to your rightful position in Him. Sometimes as Children of God, we want to manifest God’s glory so that we can have the praise; God will never share is glory with no one.

"Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." - Galatians 5:26

How does Pride Come?
Pride is of the devil as he invented it and every evil (Isaiah 14:12, John 8:34), so pride is gotten from listening and obeying the devil, which is very easy to do for a natural man. God is just the opposite, Loving, Kind and humble. Jesus Christ left his throne to take flesh (John 1:14). Then He humbled himself to die for us (John 3:16). I can't imagine your president stepping down to go to prison (not to talk of die) for someone and he will certian think twice for his or her spouse but the Creator reduced Himself to take human flesh and died, just that we might live again even when we were yet sinners(John 10:10). Pride comes from lack of Love and thinking highly of yourself over anyone. Do you think you have or got anything by your own might or work? If God hasn't given you the ability or placed you in the position or given you life, will you be able to do anything?

"For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God." - Hebrews 3:4

If God says you won't have then you won't, All good and perfect comes from God ... (James 1:17). So it is because God gave you or permitted you to have, that is why you have anything. For Love gives while pride doesn't takes and condemns. God is Love (1 John 4:16), that is why He sent his only begotten Son (who is Love too) to died for us, even though He could just as well whipped us out of the face of the earth and made a new set of humans but He didn't because He loves us so much.

What will happen to the Proud?
The proud surely will fall as the devil is already a very good example in Isaiah 14:20-23. The Bible says that "Blessed are the Meek for they shall inherit the earth (Matt 5:6)". What that means is that the meek, which means humble, will own the earth by the wisdom God will give them (Proverbs 11:2). God will never teach or revile knowledge to anyone except he is humble. In Number 12:3-4, God said Moses was the meekest man on earth that is why He called him. God can't use you if you are not humble; instead you will be cut off from God (Luke 18:9-14). If you are humble God will save you and preserve you (Psalm 147:6). God opposes the proud (James 4:6).

How do I know I have pride?
If you feel better than any other person, then you are proud. You see, if you love something, you will see it very important and will want everything to be well with it. Let me be more precise, if you have a very fine car and see another person that has a small car, if you look down on that person that is pride. Another example is if you are given something you need but you feel the person is having pity on you, then you say no, don't pity me, I don't need your money, it is just situation that is making me like this. That is pride too. Both the poor and the rich can be proud including Christians . That you are rich was God's doing for you to help the poor and needy; and that you are poor is for a reason that you might learn one or two things before you get rich because there is no one made to be poor. God has his reason for everything. You can never understand God except He makes you, so don't even bother to try to do that (1 Corinthians 1:19). No one is better than another person; we all have spirit, soul and body. All the external things are just temporary and anyone can have that, if God gives it. If you were born rich, can you imagine that you were born into another family that was otherwise. So you better start thanking God and no one else. Sometimes Had come in pride myself because of the knowledge God reviled to me and Holy Spirit has been dealing with me. One example which I know is common to christians is not doing something because they are ashamed or worried about the other persons reaction. i.e preaching the Gospel or dancing to God in church. Sometimes even when we do it we boast about it to others or feel proud that we did it. So there can be pride in doing something and also not doing it. Everything will do in this world will be shown at the last day to everyone that ever existed. When people are ashamed of God, then they are not proud of Him but are proud of their ego. Many people have lost their opportunity to receive savalation or healing because they were ashamed to come out to receive it.

"Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)" - Philippians 3:19

Conquering Pride through Jesus Christ
Some people are humble even when they are not born again but for all born again Christian it is a compulsory fruit.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22,23

God wants all Christians to humble themselves before Him in order for Him to use they completely. God used Moses because he was the meekest man on the surface of the earth at that time.

“(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)” - Numbers 12:3

If you are born again, you have the ability to bear this fruit; you just have to obey God's word. Humility is the way kingdom of God works (1 Corinthians 1:19-30). Being humble is not being stupid. And bible says "so that no one can ever boast in the presence of God” - (1 Corinthians 1:29). God doesn't want another Satan in his kingdom again, so He only works with the humble people, who won't want to boast of their ability. God has been showing me that Love removes pride.

"Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;" - 1 Corinthians 13:4 (Good News)

If you doubt this, why don't you check out if you are proud to those you love? I mean really love and not lust. The world has turned lust to love. Let me tell you, Love gives and Lust takes. Christ gave Himself for us but Satan took from man God's glory on him, which has been restored in Christ Jesus to those who have faith in Him. Your Prayer today should be, "God please teach me to be humble as I am poor in spirit. I need you oh God, for I am nothing without you, Weak without you. God teach me how to Love. Thank you Jesus Christ
