The Curse of the Law [ Listen | Forward Message via Email ]
Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, man had to live under a curse and it will be this way till the second coming of Christ as Revelation 22:3 says “And there shall be no more curse”: this verse will come to pass only at the second coming of Christ. Even though man is able to keep all God’s commandments, that is not able to reverse the curse on man and the earth because the law itself can not give man eternal life. Galatians 3:21 says “for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law”. Nevertheless, man was given the law after his fall for certain reasons, which many people misunderstand today: some think that they have to totally obey the law to be justified in the sight of God, while others think that the law was abolished at the death of Jesus Christ.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” - Genesis 1:28

For you to understand why God gave man his laws, you must first understand the state of man before his fall. Man was made in the image and glory of God (Genesis 1:26) and the first thing God did to him was to bless him (Genesis 1:28), which He also did to the animals he created (Genesis 1:22). It was only after blessing them that God released them to do what He made them for. So man was blessed and also was without any knowledge of sin until his fall (Genesis 3:22). Man was upright thus he never needed the law to tell him what to do, it was in his nature to do the right things without a struggle but immediately man disobeyed God he fell short of the glory of God, lost the blessing and fell under a curse (Genesis 3).

For you to understand what I am talking about let me define the word “curse” from the Webster’s dictionary. The word “Curse” means “To injure; to subject to evil; to vex, harass or torment with great calamities; To devote to evil”. From this definition of the word “curse”, we can understand that anything that attracts evil or brings disease or death to a place or to someone is a curse. A curse is a contract that gives right to devils to do their evil deeds without restrictions which eventually leads to death or we can simply define a curse as the absence of God’s life and presence in a place.

We now can understand that when man fell short of the glory of God, he lost the nature and presence of God (Genesis 6:3), which gave room fpr evil to dominate the earth. That is the very reason why the world is in a state of disarray: economic meltdown, earthquakes, famines and all sorts of evil is rampant. Nevertheless God’s intention since the fall of man was to restore him to that position of blessing once again. The blessing has the nature of multiplication or increase which is opposite to the curse. The curse constantly tends to death and decrease while the blessing constantly tends to increase and life. Life is tied to the blessing while death is tied to the curse. Deuteronomy 30:19 says “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life”.

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” - Genesis 6:3

Proverbs 26:2 says “Curses cannot hurt you unless you deserve them” [GNB], therefore by now we should understand that curses are released due to disobedience and obedience is the foundation for the blessing but how can man obey God when he is totally disconnected from Him, just like a satellite that lost communication from its ground station? Genesis 6:3 says that the spirit of God could not fellowship or communicate with man any more because after man fell, the presence of God was not immediately taken from the earth. In fact, Cain killed his brother in the presence of God because the presence of God was only taken away from the earth in Genesis 6:3. Therefore, man continual disobeyed God even in His presence.

God also told Cain that “sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him” (Genesis 4:7). This should reveal to us that man had some knowledge of what was good and what was sin even before the law was introduced, but nevertheless man became a law to himself and did whatever he wanted without the impute of God, and that is why I believe that one reason why God shortened the age of man to 120 years in Genesis 6:3 was because of the fallen state of man, who only was continually disobedient to him.

“And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.” - Genesis 4:11-12

Man haven fallen under a general curse due to Adam’s disobedience can also inherit his personal curse as Cain did. In Genesis 4:11-12, God cursed Cain saying that the land will never yield fruit for him no matter how he sows; that is why we need to understand the concept of the blessing because the real understanding of the blessing is watered down in this generation. Many people think when they get a material thing like a car that that is the blessing or even watering it down to the sneeze of a person (saying “God bless you”) but the blessing is far more than that. In fact labouring without God’s active blessing in a person’s life may bring riches but with lots of sorrows. Proverbs 10:22 says “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it”.

Moreover, there are many people who no matter how hard they labour will never amount to anything because they are under a curse. The ignorant thing about many Christians is that they think that they are operating in the blessing because they are born again but are not because of the simple reason that many Christians don’t even know what is a blessing and what is a curse, not to talk of activating it, therefore many Christians try to live as a Christian in this world using the world methods. The blessing is the key for Christians to survive in any situation especially in this perilous times. God prospered Isaac in a time of famine and He can still do it today. Nevertheless, my focus in this message is not the blessing but the curse that comes from the law.

“(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” - Romans 5:13-14

Before the law came to light through Moses, man still died because of his fall. Without the law telling you what to do, man had a free rein to do whatever seemed right in his eyes because the law reveals the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 says “for by the law is the knowledge of sin”. Sin results from man disobeying God’s law or commandment. 1 John 3:4 says “So Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law”.

You may then ask me how will God judge the people who died before the law. As I said before men had a little knowledge of what was good and bad in their conscience, therefore I believe God will judge men that died before the law according to their consciences because Noah was not under the law but God said he found him righteous in his generation (Genesis 7:1). Therefore your ignorance of the truth will not excuse you from reaping the consequences of doing wrong, that is why the bible says “my people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6).

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.” - Galatians 3:19

God selected a people, the Israelites, to be his people as He promised to Abraham, and He gave them His laws to obey them till the coming of the Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:24 says “the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ” and it was added because it brings to light what is sin to judge it (Galatians 3:19).

Most people think when the bible refers to the law in New Testament, they generally conclude it is abolished, misunderstanding what God’s grace is all about but we must first understand that there are three kinds of laws that was given to the Old Testament saints.

The first is the Moral laws or the Ten commandments as popularly known (Exodus 20). This law was only given through Moses to man directly by God but the others were given by men to men or angels to men. The second which is Ceremonial law, also called the laws of ordinances, was given for the service of the earthly temple worship. This dealt with what people should wear, eat and different dates of worship i.e. new moon. The third is the Civil law which was given to govern the country, Israel.

“Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;” - Ephesians 2:15

At the death of Jesus Christ, the only law that was abolished was the Ceremonial law (Ephesians 2:15) because the earthly temple worship was abolished and the heavenly temple was established, in which Jesus Christ was made the new high priest (Hebrews 9:11). This brought a change of the law concerning worshipping God (Hebrews 7:12). As for the Civil law, since it is a law that governs a country, it remains as long as a country remains and varies for different countries, and it is also subject to changes. As for the Moral law it was not abolished nor done away with but was fulfilled at the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ said “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil” (Matthew 5:17).

To be abolished means “To destroy, or put an end to” but to be fulfilled means “Accomplished; performed; completed”. Therefore, the Moral laws of God became fulfilled in the New Testament and not abolished or destroyed.

“Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” - Romans 7:12

We should have thought the Moral laws was a good thing to mankind as the bible says the law is good and holy, but instead what was good became bad for man because the law revealed how bad man had fallen from the standard of God and therefore man could never obey the laws of God perfectly.

It was required that every man should keep the law to perfection, if not he is counted an offender, because the same law that says do not steal, says do not kill. Even though we might see killing a more grievous sin than lying, yet someone that lies is as guilty as someone that kills under the law. James 2:10-11 says “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law”.

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them”. Galatians 3:10

Therefore anyone that doesn’t keep the whole law or offends in one area of it, is considered an offender and therefore was under a curse (Galatians 3:10): a curse because the law produce results if obeyed or disobeyed. For example, the law of gravity works for anyone on earth, so if you jump off a skyscraper thinking you are superman, you will not be exempted from fall to the ground. If you look through the Old Testament you will notice that their was a consequence for obeying the law and for also disobeying it. So the law judged men and condemned those that were offenders, in which some brought instant death (Romans 5:16). Nevertheless the law could not be kept without breaking it. Instead of sin to be reduced or dealt with by the law because man now knew what is sin and was meant to avoid it, sin became more glaring: man could not obey what he knew was the truth in his fallen state (Romans 7:19). God considers what you do as sin, when you know the truth and you don‘t do it. James 4:17 says “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin”.

One thing I noticed and you might have noticed, is immediately you hear or study to get a revelation, you get tested concerning it. The reason why, is because the enemy now knows you know the truth which he never wanted you to know before, thus would want to take that occasion to make you sin that he might have room to attack you (Hebrews 10:26).

1 Corinthians 15:56 says “The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law”. Therefore, the law that was good ended up condemning man to death even more. Romans 5:20 says “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound”. The consequence of committing sin is different from the judgment that comes from the law, that’s why the bible says when the New Testament believer asks for forgiveness they are forgiven and cleansed (1 John 1:9). Forgiveness is the pardon from the judgment that comes from the law while cleansing is the removal of the consequences that comes from sin. Also, we see that when Adam sinned, he died spiritually - that was the consequence of sin - but when God put a curse on the earth for his sake that was the judgment for disobeying the commandment of God. The law stood for that judgment of sin and thus brought curses on man.

“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?” - Romans 7:1

The next thing the law brought upon man was that it blinded men from really seeing and serving God: men had to try with their own effort to keep over 600 laws in order to attain unto righteous, thus in battling to do that they looked unto the law as their saviour and not God (Romans 7:1); that is why Jesus told the Pharisees “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” (John 5:39).

The greatest mistake in today’s Church is that they are trying to obey God without knowing God and that is why many give up when there is a small trial, while others fall back and beat themselves on the head because they make a mistake. God created man to fellowship with him (Genesis 3, John 4:24) and not as servants because God already had angels who He made for that. It is only a religious attitude trying to work to be justified in the sight of God because it is never going to be possible. You will most likely make a mistake one day. Romans 3:20 says “by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight”. This is why religions that try to work to be justified before their god are missing it. Which of them can tell me that he has not broken any of the laws of their religion before? Solomon, one of the wisest men that lived on earth, said “there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes 7:20). Galatians 3:12 says “the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them”, which also points to the fact that the law dominates a man’s life and makes him dependent on his own ability and not God’s, therefore faith is excluded and pride is manifest.

“For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.” - Romans 10:2

There are so much zealous people in different religions, who just like the Jews truly think they are seeking God but not according to the knowledge of God but after that which other men have created, therefore they missing out on the righteousness which God has provided.

“For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” - Romans 10:3

You can not go about thinking that it is what you feel is correct or the traditions that men have made up into a religion by laws handed down for thousands of year that make anyone righteous in the sight of God. God is the only person that can determine what will justify a man in His sight because He is the creator and the judge of the universe. Man naturally hates changes, and that is why Israel rejected the righteousness of God, which is by faith in Jesus Christ for the righteousness that came by the law: they have been used to keeping the law, so when God introduced a new, better and far more easier way to attain to righteousness they rejected it. It is so easy to get righteous in the New Testament that men misunderstand the simplicity of the Gospel of Christ. Romans 4:13-14 says “For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect”.

Despite the judgment that the law brought upon man, the law in itself is good and holy but its major problem with it could not help man. There are three things the law could not do for man, which left man hopeless in the midst of truth.

1. The law could not pay for man’s sins.
2. The law had to be kept perfectly if it must be satisfied, which man could never keep in his fallen state.
3. The law could not give eternal life nor restore the spirit of man.

God knowing that man could not help himself, had to help man out by sending His only begotten son to redeem mankind by paying for man’s sin with His own death, giving us back eternal life at His resurrection and fulfilling the law by his perfect obedience to the law (Hebrews 5:8).

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” - Galatians 3:13

By doing this, Jesus Christ took all the curses that came and will come from our disobedience to God’s law both in the past and in future, and thus separated man from the law to live unto him. Hebrews 5:9 says “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him”.

“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;” - Romans 3:21

We are made righteous totally without the law but by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:21). This makes Jesus Christ the only way to salvation for mankind, that is why those that say there are several ways to God other than Jesus Christ or try to get to God without Jesus Christ are missing it. Therefore we are only to put our faith in Jesus Christ to be righteous before God and then obey Him unto holiness and not to look unto the law. This puts the New Testament believers not under the law but under grace. Romans 6:14 says “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace”.

As I said before, the fact that we are not under the law and under grace is not a green card to sin as some think but we are to use the grace of God to overcome our weakness. Romans 6:15 says “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid”.

“But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.” Galatians 2:17-18

If we say we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and continue in sin, are we saying Jesus Christ loves us to live in sin? Certainly the answer is NO. Jesus Christ died to destroy the power of sin, so that we have the nature of righteousness (1 John 3:5). If we keep living in sin after getting born again, we are building back the structure of sin into our lives, and making ourselves a transgressor (Galatians 2:17-18).

Nevertheless, when we sin mistakenly, Jesus Christ made a way out by His blood that He shed on the cross thus giving us an advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1). Anyone that sins and asks for forgiveness automatically becomes forgiven and cleansed, thus he can live on as a righteous person. Christians ought not to continue in sin but should repent and learn from their mistakes, using God’s grace to over them and not their strength.

“Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” - Romans 8:33-34

One of the devils tricks is to bring condemnation to us when we sin but Jesus Christ does not condemn us when we sin but convicts us by the Holy Spirit (John 16:8), in order to correct us. Condemnation came by the law and it also comes when people judge others and sentence them instead of helping them. When we sin, we don’t sin against man nor the devil, so therefore we have no business with them, no matter the charges that is brought against us for condemnation. If you don’t understand this, you will give a foot-hole for the enemy to attack your faith. There was a time, I made a mistake by saying what I was not supposed to say, which hurt my relationship with someone; thus I was under the condemnation of the devil for over six months, which really paralyzed my Christian life, but if I had understood at that time that I answer to Jesus Christ only for my mistakes, I would have put my focus on Him and not my mistake. Therefore whether, we are standing or we fall, we only now answer to Jesus Christ and nothing else. An understanding of this will let us appreciate the great price that Jesus paid for us and thus be thankful at all times.

“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” - Romans 3:31

Nevertheless, the fact that we are not under the law does not mean that we should not obey the law because Romans 3:31 says when we operate by faith then we establish or fulfill the laws of God. This means that the New Testament believers are above the law while under grace.

OLD -> LAW NEW -> GRACE
(under the law) (above the law) (working to fulfill the law) (law fulfilled by Christ)
(works to be righteous) (believes to be righteous)
(can only see the law) (can see Jesus Christ)

The Old Testament believers were under the law and had to obey it unto righteousness but the New Testament believers are made righteous by faith to continue living in righteousness by the grace of God unto holiness, so that the law is fulfilled in them because the laws of God are already put in their heart (Hebrews 10:16), so by nature they keep the law without concentrating on the law because the law is not made for those who keep the law but for those that break the law: we are now sons of God and not servants to the law (Galatians 4:5). 1 Timothy 1:9 says “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers”.

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,” - Hebrews 10:26

Moreover, Jesus’ death on the cross removed the curse that came from the law (Galatians 3:13), so that when we sin, we can ask for forgiveness. Nevertheless, we should not take the grace of God for granted especially when we have known the truth. If a person continues in sin after he knows that what he is doing is wrong, then he is playing with the grace of God, the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and may suffer the consequences of it (Hebrews 10:26-29).

“For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.” Galatians 2:19

Many people don’t really understand what it means to be born again or what they got themselves into when they got born again; they think salvation is just a mere confession of faith but it is more than that. By the law we were sentenced to death for we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), but Jesus came to pay the price for our sins. All we have to do is by faith believe in what He did and automatically we become dead to the law and resurrected with a new life to live and serve God (Galatians 2:19). Paul said “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). So the day we confessed Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we acknowledged that we have turned away from the world to God, turned away from sin to God, and turned away from the law to God. Therefore through the sentence of death by the law, we are free from the law that we should live unto God

“For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.” - Romans 7:2

One mistake we must not make especially in the New Testament is thinking that where the word law appears in the bible always refers to all the laws but it could some times refer to a particular aspect of the law. I already told you that there are three kinds of law and only one of them is abolished. Moreover, sometimes when the bible refers to the law in the New Testament, it refers to the commandments of God to us and not the moral law, for example the whole scriptures are referred to as the perfect law of liberty in James 1:25.

In Romans 7:2, we know that by the law once a person is married another, he is bound to that person except one of them dies, then the other can remarry. The Old Testament saints were married to the law but anyone that believes in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has died to the law to live for God. Romans 7:4 says “Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God”.

The mistake that many Christians are making is that they are still married to the law, in the sense that they try to keep the law without putting Jesus Christ in first place in their heart. So therefore they are living a religious life, which the bible calls spiritual adultery. Romans 7:3 says “So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man”.

Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ and not a religion or a set of rules. So ask yourself, why do I pray? Why do I read my bible? Why do I do what I do in life? If it is not birth out of your relationship to Jesus Christ or it doesn’t put Him in first place in your heart, then you are committing spiritual adultery.

Jesus said “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Until you first have a relationship with Jesus Christ, Christianity will be boring and will seem difficult. It is only when we start loving God we start obeying Him, and it is only when we obey Him that the law of God becomes fulfilled. The fact you are born again, is not what fulfills the law in a Christian’s life. There are certain things the bible says we have to do to activate that fulfillment of the law in our lives.

The reason why man could not obey the law of God was because he had no spirit but had a flesh which is not subject to the laws of God (Romans 8:7) but when we got born again, we were given a new spirit with the nature of Christ; nevertheless our body still remains, and this has been the major obstacle to many Christians; but Jesus Christ also made a way out of this problem. Romans 8:3 says “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh”.

What we must now do to take away the flesh is to obey Jesus Christ through a process called mortification of the flesh. It is a process where Christians by continuous consistent obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit have their flesh deadened by the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13), then they start to work in the spirit. It starts initially with a struggle but after then it becomes easy once the flesh is totally mortified. It is only then we fulfill the law because dead men don't sin, how then can the law judge such, or have you seen any dead man sentenced to 10 years in imprisonment or to death? All sin is in the flesh except for the sin of pride which can both exist in the flesh or in spirit. Romans 8:4 says “That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”. Jesus took away the law by fulfilling the law and payed the price for our death, so that by faith we are dead in the flesh to sin in order to live for Christ.

There are other things that we can do to activate the fulfillment of the law. They are walking in the spirit, walking in love, or walking in faith. These are interlinked because if one is in operation the others are also in operation. If you walking in love, faith is active; if you are walking in faith, you are also walking in the spirit. Galatians 5:6 says “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love”.

1. Love fulfills the law
“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” - Romans 13:8

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Galatians 5:14

“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6:2

2. Faith
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” - Romans 10:4

3. Walking in the Spirit fulfills the law of God
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” - Romans 8:2

“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” - Galatians 5:18

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23

You must understand something about the fruit of the spirit, it is not something you try to do, it is a naturally result from walking in the spirit which fulfills the law of God because fruits are produced by the seeds planted and watered.

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” - Galatians 5:13

There is so much liberty for the New Testament believers that many Christians are not enjoying right now; nevertheless this liberty is not to serve the flesh by living in sin but to serve Jesus Christ (Galatians 5:13). This liberty allows us serve or worship God on any day, instead of restricting ourselves to one day of worship as some do. Many people still say we must worship on the Sabbath day but having known from this message that we are not under the law, we can certainly say that that is spiritual slavery of men whose minds are still under the law. The scriptures say “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any”. We can obey any rule provided it is not sin or against the commandments of Jesus Christ but we must not let them govern us. For example, people who think that you must worship only on the Sabbath day (Saturday), think that those not obeying it are committing a sin. Therefore the day that was made for them now rules over them and not them over the day. Mark 2:27 says “The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath”.

Paul said “And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law” (1 Corinthians 9:21). Therefore, you can be flexible with other people’s opinions, having an understanding that they are ignorant of the truth on the condition that it has no influence on your salvation or theirs. For example, if you go to a Church that says ladies shouldn’t wear trousers, then don’t, and if you go to another that says wear then d0, but if you go to a Church that says same sex can marriage, or you can marry more than one wife, or commit fornication before marriage, then avoid such because Paul said He never forsook the law of God, which is the law of the Spirit. 1 Timothy 1:8 says “But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully”. We as Christians must learn to promote the peace and unity of the body of Christ and not use laws to create barriers.

“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” - Luke 16:16

The liberty of the Gospel as I said before is to allow us to serve God and not to be idle in the body of Christ. God told Moses to tell Pharaoh “let my people go so that they can worship and serve me” (Exodus 8:1), and that is the same reason God set us free for the law and sin as Christians. God has given us liberty to foremost worship Him, and to preach the gospel. It is hard for people who are in bondage to worship God neither will they be able to preach the gospel. The bible says that man served the law until the days of John but it was only after then they were able to preach the gospel of Christ for others to enter into the kingdom of God. That is what we must do with the liberty that Jesus purchased for us: we must preach the gospel in our respected calling to humanity and not serve our own desire. For every man shall given account of what he used his liberty for.

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” - Romans 6:16

Liberty gives man a freewill to choose what he wants because anything that doesn’t you have control over is a bondage. So the liberty of Christians gives them the option to choosing to go back in the bondage of sin or to serve God willingly (Romans 6:16).

“That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” - Galatians 3:14

The bible tells us that the blessing of Abraham has come upon the gentiles through Jesus Christ but Christians must understand that it is their obedience that releases them into the blessing of God, and not by a faith that is without works. Faith without works is wishing for something and a hopeless confession. Obedience is the foundation of the blessing and it is sustained by obedience. Jesus Christ said “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” (Luke 11:28).

“Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.” - Daniel 6:5

The devil’s major attack against Christians is for them to disobey God. He made Adam disobey and thus lost the blessing, and he also tried it on Daniel but he was willing to obey God even till death (Daniel 6:5). When the devil is attacking your bible and prayer life, he is doing all this to prevent you from having the strength to obey God. God said to Joshua “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8).

If we must ever enjoy the blessing of God wherever we are, we have to start to obey God in everything he tells us to do. If you don’t know any of God’s commandments, then I must tell you of two major core commandment in scriptures. The first is to go out into all the nations to preach the gospel to anyone (Mark 16:15), and the second is to love God with all you have and to love everyone around you. Matthew 22:37-40 said “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets”.

Conclusion
In conclusion, I said that God made man blessed, but when he fell, he lost that blessing and was under curse. Ever since then God has intended to bring man back to that point of blessing.

A curse brings decrease or tends to death but the blessing brings increase and tends to life. When Jesus cursed a fig tree for not bearing fruit, it whither. Peter seeing this said “Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away” (Mark 11:21) and when he blessed five loaves of bread and two fishes it multiplied to feed over 500o people (Matthew 14:21).

I said after the fall of man, he was given the law to let him have the knowledge of what is sin but that which was good revealed how far man had fallen from the standard of God, and thus became a curse for man because man could not obey it perfectly.

When Jesus came, He took away that curse to put those that believe in Him under grace, and in doing this, we are not to look unto the law for salvation but to look onto Jesus Christ; nevertheless this doesn’t mean we should not obey the laws of God.

If we do make a mistake, we can ask for forgiveness and we will be forgiven because of the price Jesus Christ paid for us on the Cross, but we are not to make a practice of sin, thus despising the sacrifice that was made for us. The grace of God is able to strength to us overcome our weaknesses, so all we have to do is use it wherever we fall short. Romans 5:20 says “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”.

Once we believe in Jesus Christ, we are translated into kingdom of God but this does not activate the blessing in our lives. It is in our obedience that we can then start enjoying God blessing.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” - Romans 10:9

All we have to do to be removed from the curse of the law, in order to have access into the blessing of God is first to be born again. If you are not born again, all you have to do is by faith believe and acknowledge with your mouth that Jesus Christ died and rose again for you according to Romans 10:9, and you become a partaker of the blessing of God. So say the prayer below believing with your whole heart in all what you are saying, and you become born again; it is that easy. It is so easy that I pray you do it right now. If you want to do it now, just say the prayer below now.

Prayer for Salvation:
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life. I confess you as my Lord and Saviour. I believe I am now living in the blessing. Help me stop every sin in my life and obey you. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you said that prayer, I believe you are now born again. So write us, so that we can share more on what you should do with your new life in Christ Jesus. Now that you are born again, you must learn to obey the commandment of God by the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is your obedience to Him that your blessing will be apparent to all, and in order for you to learn his voice and get to know Him more you have to spend time reading his Word, the bible and pray. Luke 11:13 says ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit and you will receive, so I encourage you to ask for that gift right now in a simple prayer and I believe you will receive it, if you ask in faith. You can repeat this simple prayer below right.

Prayer for the Holy Spirit:
Dear Lord Jesus, You said in your word that if I ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit, I will receive it. I ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit and I believe I receive it right now. In Jesus name, Amen.

I hope this message has been a blessing. Remember Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with a person, Jesus Christ, so stop praying or reading your bible to fulfill all righteousness but read do them to know HIM. Write us and let us have your praise report and comments at info@revelationtoend.org. God bless.
