REVEALING GOD DEVOTIONAL – THE UNEQUAL BALANCE
Praise God for another day to be alive because if you are reading this that means you are alive. Today I just want to share something that will interest you. It is a process that happens in every area of our life. If we can understand this process, then we will be able to maximize it to produce positive results.
Science says that energy is never lost but it is converted from one form to the other. For example, if some water is heated up, that water will remain the same quantity in different forms — some will turn to steam and some will still remain as water. But when the steam condenses, we will discover that it will be the same volume of water. The only way to make a difference in the amount of water is to introduce some more water.
In life this process still applies because there are times we might find ourselves going in one unhappy circle or should I just spell it out – STAGNANCY. It is obviously not anyone’s desire to be in one place for a long time. For example in your job, if you were not promoted within a certain time, you will certainly feel something is wrong. We then must say that stagnancy is not pleasant or desirable by anyone and it is obviously not God’s plan because God told Adam “be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28). Imagine if Adam and Eve were just the only people on the earth till date, it certainly would seem like a good picture of stagnancy to me. God does not want that when He created you with so much potential, and that is why when the man that was given one talent didn’t return any profit back to his lord in the parable Jesus told, his lord was unhappy with him. God expects progressive results from what He has given to us because no normal parent will be happy seeing his child stagnant in life. The scripture says “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more” (Luke 12:48).
We must at this point realize that the devil is the mastermind of stagnancy in life with a little of our cooperation though. The devil knew that once Adam and Eve remained on course they would multiply and fulfill God’s Will, so he introduced an unequal balance into the process by introducing sin and deception. This altered the process of mankind for the next 4000 years of his existence, and its effect is still being felt till today. Nevertheless, when it was time for God to make a change to the unequal balance of the devil, He had to introduce something else, and that was Jesus. Therefore you must understand that you cannot expect a change in a circle in life without something changing; and the first point of change should be from the mind. When the devil wanted to make a change in mankind he introduced a lie, and when Jesus came to make a change He preached the Word, and as many as believed were changed.
Now one practical step that the devil uses to change a mind that is already set in a positive process is to introduce something, and that is why he introduced a snake to change the mind of Eve, and he then used Eve to change the mind of Adam (Genesis 3). If you look closely at Job’s account, the devil left one servant alive anytime he struck to bring the bad news to Job (Job 1); and he then used Job’s wife to try to enforce the change to his mind in order for him to curse God (Job 2). When the devil wanted to kill Jesus he used the Pharisees and when they could not do it, he introduced a mole in His disciples to make that happen. The fact is that the devil is still using this method against the Church today by introducing moles to cause a change in a positive progress in order to halt it and bring it into stagnancy. The scripture says “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way” (Matthew 13:25).
How could David defeat Goliath, if not that there was a spiritual input to his physical stature; what of Samson, a man that singlehandedly fought and defeated a thousand soldiers. The Equal of Life is:
LIFE = SPIRITUAL + PHYSICAL
The way to overcome the unbalanced equation of life is to have the input of the spiritual as David and Samson had. The more the physical pressure we have in life the more the spiritual assistance we need. One practical way to tap into the spiritual for help is to be spiritually vigilant and one step ahead of the devil through prayer because the scriptures says that it was only when people are spiritually asleep that the devil is able to introduce a change without being caught. And if the devil has already been able to keep you stagnant then you still need to pray for God to give you the wisdom so that He can either send help or give you divine insight and wisdom to break out of that circle in life. The scripture says “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41).
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8)
As a Christian, never stop praying; and when I say pray, I don’t mean praying for needs but a prayer to see ahead. The scripture says not just pray, watch or be vigilant also because the devil is seeking a way of attack (1 Peter 5:8). What is the use of praying when you are praying blindly and not praying about the real issues? The scripture says why are you worried and praying for your needs of today, and not considering the evil of the day (Matthew 6:34). So learn to always pray as the Lord taught us to pray “Lead us not into temptation” (Matthew 6:13).
If you don’t know what to pray about, then pray in tongues because that gives the Holy Spirit access to pray the unknown Will of God through you (Romans 8:26).
The ultimate medium of change towards divine purpose at the end of the day, whether by prayer or any other means, is by the Word of God. In prayer, it is only when God sends His Word, and we receive it, that the change comes. God will never do anything without first sending His Word. The Scripture says, “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7).
