How to be Saved!

Introduction

There was a man named Cornelius, who was a roman general over a hundred soldiers. He was also very rich and God-fearing man. Despite having a good job, riches, fame, and respect from people, he realized he needed to be ready for a life of eternity after he dies. So, he sought it by praying and by doing good things like giving out to the needy and poor. Seeing his desire to be saved, one day God sent an angel to him to tell how he could get truth of how he could be actually saved. The angel told him to send for Peter, one of the Apostles of Jesus, so he could preach the gospel to him. And when Peter came, he told Cornelius how Jesus Christ came into the world to do good and deliver mankind from the oppression of the devil, and the power of sin. “That through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43). It was after Peter preached this message that Cornelius and his household understood how they could get saved. Then they immediately believed in the message and got saved (Acts 10).

Salvation in Christ Jesus is a free gift of eternal life by our faith in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, which money, good works or fame cannot obtain. Cornelius had all these good things but still was not saved. We do not need any other thing but faith in Jesus Christ to be saved, which is also term “Born Again”. Regularly attending a Church or that a person is born into a Christian family does mean they are saved. The scripture says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12).

Many people may also say they already believe in Jesus, but they miss out acceptance of his free gift of life through a prayer of faith. If you already believe in Jesus Christ, then you must ask God to give you the free give of eternal life that Jesus made available, and for the forgiveness of your past sins. No sin is bigger than the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus. The scripture says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9).

So say this prayer now, if you want to be saved, and believe every word as you say it out.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Dear Lord, I believe Jesus Christ died for me and rose from the death, and his alive today. Forgive me my sins and give your gift of eternal life. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Personal Saviour. Cleanse me with the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for writing my name in the book of life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

If you said this prayer, I believe you have been saved by Jesus Christ. Just keep thanking God for what He has done, and start to build a relationship with Him through the study of the Word and prayer, because God is now your spiritual father. So see Him as such. Christian is a relationship with God and not just a religion (Colossians 1:13, Matthew 6:9).

What We are Saved from?

There are several benefits we enjoy when we are saved. Some include:

1. We escape an eternal destiny in Hell and eternal Destruction.
2. We are delivered from the powers of the devil and his demons.
3. We enjoy the presence and peace of God.
4. We enjoy the provisions of God.
5. We enjoy sound health and long life.

However, we must realize that these benefits do not come automatically when you get born again. We have to put God first and stay away from sin. And when we make a mistake to sinning, we must quickly repent and avoid repeating the same mistake again (1 John 1:9). The scripture says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things [that the people of the world is seeking after] shall be [freely] added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33).

Now that you are Saved (Born Again)!

If you just got born or you were already born again and have not been experiencing a life that reflects the salvation of Jesus Christ, you must do the following;

1. Study to know, Meditate to Understand, and Continue Do the Word of God (1 Peter 2:2, James 1:19-25).
2. Pray regularly to build a relationship with God (Matthew 26:41).
3. Seek to get filled with the Holy Spirit and learn to pray in the Holy Spi*rit (Luke 11:13, Jude 1:20).
4. Seek Divine Guidance (Romans 8:14).
5. Join a bible believing Church (Hebrews 10:25).
6. Walk in Love towards other people. (Matthew 22:39).
7. Quickly forgive others, so that you can be forgiven by God when you sin (Matthew 6:14-15).
8. Learn to speak in Love and positively in-line with God’s Word, even about others because faith starts by how we speak, and how we speak determines the ultimate outcome of our life (Proverbs 18:20-21, Ephesians 4:15, James 3, 1 Peter 3:10).

Congratulations once more if you just got born again. You can Write or Call us to share the good news.
