REVEALING GOD DEVOTIONAL - WEIGHING THE DIFFERENCE
Bless and praise God for another wonderful day! I hope you had a nice weekend. Today I want to talk about a topic titled ‘Weighing the Difference’.
In life some things have many paths to producing the same answer, but not necessarily at the same duration of time. Some paths might take a day, another a month, another a year, and another ten years, but at the end they all arrive at the same result.
“And saying, Lord, my servant is lying down at home paralyzed with terrible pain. And Jesus said to him, I will come with you and heal him. The Centurion responded and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under the roof of my house: but only speak the Word, and my servant shall be healed’” (Matthew 8:6-8).
Many people had come before seeking Jesus for His physical presence, but a Roman soldier came to Him saying He didn’t need to come physically to his house for the miracle. He should JUST SAY THE WORD. This was an entirely different approach from what every other person before him had asked, but at the end of the day, his approach got him the same result at a faster time.
We must not be too traditional in our thinking that we limit the working of God’s power, as the Pharisees did, and thus were judgmental towards Jesus. The fact that we all start the journey of salvation does not mean we will all go through the same path in life to get to the destination. The Israelites had just been delivered from the Egyptians and were on a 12-day journey to Canaan, but the journey instead lasted for 40 years. Most times there might be delay in life, which might be due to God’s Will, your character, or the devil’s attack. But the good news is that you will end up having what God has promised you if you don’t give up. The scripture says, “Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).
In a track race, every man on eight lanes runs to finish before the other, but that is not the way the Kingdom of God operates. Men weigh accomplishment by time alone, but God does not. Rather, He weighs accomplishment by the fact that you get to the finish line without breaking the rules of the game, regardless of the time spent. In God’s system, we all can be winners despite the delay. That is why Christians must not be competitive with each other or seek vain glory, but help one another to get to the finish line. Jesus said in a parable that illustrates this point: different workers were called at different times — some at 9am, some at 12 noon, some at 3pm, and some at 5pm — for a work that was to be finished at 6pm. At the end of it all, their employer paid all of them the same wages (Matthew 20:1-10).
My encouragement to you today is that no matter the delay in life — for a life partner, a job, a child, or whatever — it will come to pass at the right time. Don’t weigh yourself with other people’s lives to determine your accomplishment or failure in life. Stay with God all the way through to the end, and He will surely be with you to see you through it.

Nevertheless, if you are not born again you can do so today because there is really no other way to having access to God or having eternal life than through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). So say this simple prayer below out with your mouth in faith, believing that Jesus Christ died and rose again for your sins (Romans 10:9).

Dear Lord, I believe Jesus died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Father for delivering me from the works of darkness. In Jesus name, Amen.
