REVEALING GOD DEVOTIONAL – THE FOUNDATION FOR STRATEGIC WINNING
Praise God for another Glorious day! Today is going to be a good day, I feel it! That is why I think this topic will be a good one to read because everyone wants to win in life. It is just natural!
You must know that once you are a Christian (Born Again), you have crossed over to the winning side. But apparently many Christians don’t experience much victory in life. You would wonder why? I think it all boils down to the basics —
FOUNDATION
.When fighting any battle we must focus on the foundation because it will be only a waste of fight to do otherwise. What is the foundation of the Christian’s victory? It is simply Faith. The scripture says “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).
Once you are a Christian you have declared war against the kingdom of darkness, so don’t assume that the devil will leave you alone and allow you to walk out of his kingdom like that. But the good news is that once you are a Christian, you fight this battle from a point of advantage in victory. So victory is always sure, and that is why Paul calls the Christian battle the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). All we need to do as Christians is to enforce the victory Jesus Christ wrought for us on the Cross. You cannot be a passive Christian and remain victorious unless you fight - a good fight of faith. The scripture says “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12).
The enemy cannot defeat a Christian without weakening his faith, which is why he will always make your faith his target. All the attacks that came at Job were just demonic strategy to break down Job’s faith. In spite of all his troubles, he kept his focus on God and he did not allow the situations around him — his losses, his bodily pain, or family and friends’ criticism — to be a distraction to him. We must practically view faith as keeping our focus on God in spite of whatever we are facing. If we are not seeing God in the midst of a problem, then we are not operating in faith. That is why we will notice that Job was totally focused on God and not the problems before him (Job 1-42). So let us see problems more like a distraction that will soon pass away. It is until we are able to do this, we permit God to step into the situation to help us. But if we rather focus on the problem than on God first, we will end up trying to resolve the problem ourselves and lose focus on God. We must never lose focus and take our eyes off God at any time, unless our faith starts sinking just as Peter’s faith failed him when he took his eyes off Jesus to focus on the storm. Immmediately, he started sinking (Matthew 14:29-31). The scripture says “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
There are two things you can do when you are faced with a battle: it is either you attack or you defend yourself. But you must know that when you are attacking and you don’t have proper defense then you are opened up for easy attack. What faith does is that it makes God a defense around you when you are attacking or defending. And the truth is defending only keeps your present state secure, but if you must advance forward in life you must wage war on the right issues to gain new territory, and not necessarily every problem that comes our way.
Faith comes by spending time in the Word of God (Romans 10:17), but faith is kept by obeying the Word. And remember you only have faith when your focus is always on God and not the problem. So have a blessed day.

Dear Lord, I believe Jesus died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Father for doing this for me. Reveal yourself to me today. In Jesus name, Amen.
