KNOWING GOD’S GRACE

Praise the Lord! It is another new month and weekday, and I am sure you are all ready for a busy week. Today, I want to zero in on God’s grace because I think many Christians don’t realize its importance and value. The more we know about it, the more we will be able to really enjoy Christianity and rest in God. The Scripture says, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” (Titus 2:11-12)

God’s grace is a gift from God to all mankind that overlooks our sins to forgive us while empowering us to overcome our weaknesses. In other words, with God’s grace you can do anything God has spoken concerning you, and you can be who God has called you to be. Paul was praying to God for a problem in his life to be removed, but God said, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

God’s grace strengthens us in our weakness to make us perfect before God. In the Old Testament, nobody could approach God because of sin; if they tried, they would die. The priest had to make a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin before he entered into the Holy of Holies in the temple once a year. If his sacrifice was not accepted, he would die trying to enter the Holy of Holies to see God. In other words, the only reason you can approach God as a Christian without dying in this dispensation of grace is because the grace of God has filled up your shortcomings and presented you to God as perfect.

Nevertheless, things that can hinder the grace of God from working in our lives is pride, hatred and unforgiveness. When a person is proud, God resist them, but for those who choose humility, He gives more grace (James 4:6). Also, when we don’t forgive others and we start harboring bitterness and resentment in our hearts, it cuts off the flow of grace in our lives. That is why Christianity will continue to look so hard for such Christians.

Without the grace of God we are helpless people; there won’t be much difference between the New and Old Testament. I really can’t imagine how Christians that are left behind will live after the rapture because the grace of God will no longer be available during those days. This is the best time to serve God, so do it with all your heart while depending on God’s grace and working in love to forgive others quickly. The scripture says “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled” (Hebrews 12:15).

If you are struggling over anything in Christianity, that is an indication that you are short of God’s grace in that area. So what you need to do is to call on God for more grace in faith to overcome your weakness. You can also meditate on the Word of God in that area where you are having problems because the Word of God also produces grace when properly mixed with faith. How hard can that be? The scripture says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

You can do anything through God’s grace (Philippians 4:13)! God bless.

Nevertheless, the first step to be a candidate for God’s grace is to be born again because the scripture makes us know that Jesus Christ is the source of God’s grace and truth (John 1:14-17). So you can be born again right now by saying this simple prayer below out loud with your mouth in faith, believing that Jesus Christ died and rose again for your sins according to Romans 10:9.
