REVEALING GOD DEVOTIONAL - THE GIFT OF FREEWILL
Praise God for another wonderful day! Today, I will be talking about God’s gift of free will. Freewill is the ability to choose what we want independently of any external input.
God gave mankind this gift so that they can willingly love and serve Him, because no one can be forced to love. You have to choose to love willingly. God created mankind out of His extension of love, and desires that mankind freely choose to love Him back and obey Him. If God just wanted mankind to be always obedient, He would have created them without a will, which would make them no different from a zombie. In other words, mankind would be like robots whose choices are determined only by the input entered.
In today’s world, where technology has taken a quantum leap, no human has been able to create a robot with emotions capable of choosing to love or making its own choices completely independent even in this era AI.
It takes freewill to disobey an instruction, and that is why Adam chose to disobey God. As for Eve, she was deceived into choosing what was not right, but as for Adam, he willingly decided to disobey God because the scripture says he was not deceived (1 Timothy 2:14).
We must understand that God respects your freewill, and that is why He will not do anything against your freewill. Neither can the devil go against your freewill, which is why he resorts to using deception, lust, and fear to lure mankind to do what he wants. So at the end of the day, our freewill gives us the sovereign right over our lives to choose to do good or bad, to choose to go left or right, or to choose to follow God or not. This is why, when people blame God for not stopping the evil things going on on the earth, they have to understand that God would not, because He has given them a freewill, and they have used it to do what they desire. However, God will always protect those who have chosen to serve Him, or those He has brought into this world to fulfil a particular purpose. Moreover, He has set a day to remove all evil from the universe once and for all. The scripture says, “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity” (Matthew 13:41).
Nevertheless, we must understand every choice we make has consequences. There are many people God calls into ministry to serve His will, but they choose to do what is more lucrative to them instead. God will not come down from Heaven to force them to do it, but would rather raise another person to fulfill that part of His will.
For other people, their wrong choices might not come in the area of ministry, but other things. For example, there was a minister of God that was called into ministry, which he willingly embraced, but when it was his time to marry, God particularly told him to choose out of two women in his church. But he wanted something different, because he had a specification for the height and shape of the woman he wanted to marry. He finally saw that woman and married her, but that woman was the devil’s agent sent to ruin his ministry. There are many people who God has told who their life partner is, but they are looking for a more beautiful woman or rich man. God does not just talk because He wants to say something, but when He tells us something, He does it to advise us for our own good. It is left to us to take His advice. The scripture says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19).
I admonish you to understand that every of God’s Word is profitable, and has a 100% guarantee to work for your good. God would not force you to obey His Word, but He has placed before you the choice of life and death, and that is why I advise you not to postpone giving your life to Him one more day. Do it today by saying the prayer at the end of this discussion. God bless and kindly share this with others.
