THE LIGHT OF LIFE - 3

Praise God for another wonderful day to share a thought with you. Today, we will continue our discussion on the importance of light. We said light is a very important thing to mankind physically and spiritually, and the devil loves to hide the truth in darkness so that Christians are at a disadvantage. So let us learn how to stay in the light when we are Born Again.

Now, just as the moon has no light of its own but takes its light from the sun, a Christian takes his source of light from Jesus. When the moon wanders far away from the sun, we will see no moon in the sky, even though the moon is still there. And once it aligns itself fully with the sun again, we have a full moon. Likewise, a Christian will have no light if he doesn’t totally walk with Jesus by diligently obeying His commandments and doing His good works (Matthew 5:16). When a Christian gets to that state, his light is quenched, and he falls into a sleeping state which makes him no different from an unbeliever. Nevertheless, once he decides to align himself with Jesus again, he will be lighted up again. The scripture says, “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” (Ephesians 5:14).

Imagine a person travelling one degree off-course in a straight line. By the time that person has travelled 100km, he would have been derailed from his path by nearly 2km. And by the time he has travelled 1000km, he would have been derailed nearly 18km off-course. This is the same method Satan has been using to derail many destinies. He simply introduces darkness little by little until that darkness has grown big enough to overwhelm the light in them.

The farther a thing is from its source of light, the less light it can receive to emit. But the closer a thing is to its source of light, the more intense the light. The scripture says, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23).

In other words, our focus determines the intensity of our light as Christians. If a Christian focuses on totally obeying God, he will be fully lit up. But once he starts to lose focus on God, the intensity of the light in him will start to diminish, allowing darkness to creep in. We must, as Christians, give no room for darkness in any area of our lives, but rather we must be determined by faith to shine from one glory to another.

In the times we are living in now, there will be great darkness in the world like never before, because the wicked will multiply while the righteous will decrease. But we must know that this would be the time when a Christian ought to shine brighter, because light does not shine properly in the light but in darkness. This dark world needs light, and as Christians, it is our responsibility to arise and shine. A candle can’t be lit when it is lying down; it needs to be stood up. So we need to arise and receive the light we need to shine in these dark times. The scripture says, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” (Isaiah 60:1-3).

Sometimes dreams can reveal our state of being lit up as a Christian or if our light has been quenched by the devil. Because when we are able to receive dreams from God, a Christian can get divine instructions and see things from a spiritual point. But if a Christian’s light is quenched, he will get unclear or no dreams from God, and instead see more nightmares.

I conclude by reiterating that our focus on diligently doing the commandments of God is what keeps our light alive. It is important that we are lighted up because we need light to fulfill destiny. Anyone that must do something great for God must be lighted up, because it is the light in us that minimizes us from falling into error and helps us see clearly what we must do at every point in our life.

That is all I have to tell you today. However, the first step of having God’s light is to be Born Again. If you are not born again, you can do so right now by asking Jesus in a simple prayer to come into your life to be your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9). So say the prayer below in faith to do so right now.

Prayer for Salvation

Dear Lord, I believe Jesus died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Wash me with your precious blood. Thank you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

I want to say congratulations if you said this prayer in faith; I believe you are now born again and ready to shine for God. Just get involved in studying and meditating on the Word, and pray to God.

I hope this message has blessed you. If it has, please forward it to others as well. You can also write to us if you just got born again, or if you have any comments at info@revelationtoend.org; we will be glad to hear from you. God bless.
