Purification Produces Good Works
Praise God for another wonderful day to share a thought with you. Today, we focus on the benefits of purification.
The process of purification of their heart makes a Christian become useful in God’s Will, which is why God takes a Christian through this process. But as I said before, this requires our cooperation with the Holy Spirit. This is why we see sometimes that the scriptures tell us that God is the one who purifies us (Titus 2:14), and other times it tells us that we must purify ourselves. For example, it says, “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work” (2 Timothy 2:21).
So therefore as long as Christians don’t deliberately desire to be purified by God, their born-again experience will seem to make them no different from a common person. The scriptures say we are a peculiar people (Titus 2:14), but it will require purification to separate us from the world and make us that peculiar people to God. In other words, we can say purification turns a Christian from possessing just the gift of righteousness to becoming a holy person.
Purification is a transition process from carnality to spirituality. It is a process where the passion of a Christian is converted from seeking after carnal and lustful things to seeking after God and serving His Will. Purification is a process where impurity within a Christian is removed by the help of the Holy Spirit, so that they can not only be heaven-bound but also earthly useful. The more purified a Christian becomes, the more work they tend to be able to do for God, because one thing stands out as the final product of a purified heart, and that is a Christian zealous towards doing good works. The scripture says, “every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit” (John 15:2).
However, the process of purification starts when a person gets born again. If you are not born again, you can do so today by saying this simple prayer below out with your mouth in faith, believing that Jesus Christ died and rose again for your sins.
Prayer for Salvation
Dear Lord, I believe Jesus died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Father for doing this for me. Reveal yourself to me today. In Jesus name, Amen.
