PURE IN HEART – 4
Purified to See God
Praise God for another day to share a thought with you. We have been talking about having a pure heart, which focuses on holy living. It is a very important part of Christianity that many Christians ignore, but God clearly said in the scriptures, “Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16).
There is nothing unholy that enters into God’s presence except it will die, or it will totally be obliterated. That is why God told Moses, when he was asking to see Him, that any man who sees His face would instantly die (Exodus 33:20). God was talking here about the fallen man. This is also one of the reasons in the Old Testament that only a cleansed High Priest could enter into the Most Holy Place where God’s presence resided in the Temple, as nothing impure enters into God’s presence and remains the same.
However, in the New Testament, after a person gets born again, he is granted access into God’s presence. And to see the face of God, he will need a pure heart, as the scripture says, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). The scripture is talking here not only about us being able to see God while we are on earth, but also for us to be able to see Him on the last day. The purification of our hearts grants us access to see God face to face and also gives us a great assurance of eternal salvation. The scripture says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” (1 John 3:2-3).
I remember that the times I ever had encounters with God in a vision, God prepared me for it through a process of purification, just as He told Moses to sanctify the people of Israel for three days in preparation for His visit on Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:9-11).
However, the process of purification starts when a person gets born again. If you are not born again, you can do so today by saying this simple prayer below out with your mouth in faith, believing that Jesus Christ died and rose again for your sins.
Prayer for Salvation
Dear Lord, I believe Jesus died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Father for doing this for me. Reveal yourself to me today. In Jesus name, Amen.
