Other Reasons Why You Should Share the News
Praise God for another day to share a thought with you. Today, let us talk about some vital reasons why we must share the gospel. Let's look at five key ones:
1. To Save Souls
When we share the gospel, we give people an opportunity to be saved. Even after over 2,000 years of the Church's existence, more than 66% of the world remains unsaved, and over half of them have never heard the gospel even once. With roughly 153,000 people dying daily and 370,000 babies born daily, there are about 134 million new souls to win for Christ yearly. This makes our task increasingly urgent.
Many will reject the message, but others will accept it—so let us give them the opportunity (Mark 16:15–16). People cannot believe what they have never heard. The Scripture says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:13–14).
2. You Will Experience Miracles
When I went to India for a missionary trip, sharing the gospel gave me the opportunity to witness firsthand miracles just like in the days of the Apostles. God designed the gospel as the gateway to miracles in every area of human life, starting with the spirit (Romans 1:16). So many people need help, and true help is found only in the gospel. The power to perform signs is available to anyone who believes and exercises faith while witnessing. The Scripture says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues, … they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17–18).
3. You Will Be Protected
We cannot ignore the fact that sharing the gospel will sometimes face opposition because it is spiritual warfare for souls. However, God has guaranteed our protection. He will protect you and ensure you live to share the good news another day, because those who spread Christ's message are vital assets to His kingdom. When Jesus spoke of taking up serpents and drinking deadly things without harm, He was speaking from both a physical and spiritual standpoint (Mark 16:18).
4. God Will Go with You
God always stands by His Word to confirm it, proving that the message we share is true and so people can believe it. Our job is simple: we share the news, and God steps in to do the rest. How hard is that? This is a partnership with God, where our part is light. Let’s take a step of faith and start sharing the gospel today. The Scripture says, “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” (Mark 16:20).
5. You Will Have God's Attention
Many people seek God, but He promises to be close to anyone who seeks to share the gospel, and always ready to answer their prayers (John 15:16). Jesus came into the world first to preach the gospel. So, during His departure, Jesus handed that assignment to every believer to carry on. When we do this, we are seeking God’s Kingdom first, and that would mean He will take care of our personal needs even without us asking. The Scripture says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33).
Conclusion
These are some of the powerful reasons why we must share the gospel without shame or hesitation. Nobody rejects a genuine solution to their problems, so we cannot keep the world's ultimate solution to ourselves, especially when we are already partakers of it. Paul says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).
Let us drop our inhibitions and get the job done. Remember, Jesus warned that whoever is ashamed of Him before others, He will also be ashamed of them in the kingdom of God (Luke 9:26).
