- Scripture Readings: Luke 1:39-56, Mark 11:22-25 Now, one of the great questions about faith is; when do we really receive an answer? Is it when we actually see results or before then? To answer this question, let us see how Mary, a virgin bride, received her miracle child. Immediately an angel had finished speaking to Mary concerning having a child by the power of the Holy Spirit, she right there believed and took a journey to see her cousin, Elizabeth, who was already six (6) months pregnant. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s voice, she was instantly filled with the Holy Spirit and said, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.” (Luke 1:42). In order words, she was saying Mary was already pregnant with a child. We, therefore, can say that Mary was immediately pregnant the moment she believed. She only needed to wait 9 months for the physical manifestation of her miracle child. We must see that there is a spiritual and physical side to receiving answers to our prayers. When God created mankind, He first created the spiritual side of man, and afterwards He formed a body and put that spirit in it to make it alive (Genesis 1-2). When we pray and we truly believe God has answered our prayers, we receive the spiritual answers to our prayers. However, there is an incubation period where the spiritual answers come to physical manifestation. It is during this time many Christians kill the answers to their prayer. Jesus once said that immediately we ask for something in prayer, we must believe we have already received the answers before we can physically see them (Mark 11:24). In life, every physical thing aligns with spiritual reality. That is why sometimes, when we have a dream, we see it later manifest in the physical, except we change them spiritually through prayer where necessary. There was a prophet named Daniel who prayed for something, which took twenty-one (21) days to receive an answer. Now, the angel that brought the answer to his prayer said, “for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.” (Daniel 10:12). We must know that when it comes to faith, there is a difference between believing and receiving. You can believe something and not physically receive it yet because of certain conditions not yet met or something causing delay. However, you must keep believing. For Daniel, even though his prayer was immediately answered, the answer to his prayer was delayed by evil spiritual forces. Nevertheless, he kept his faith and eventually received the physical answer. I pray that God help us keep our faith until we receive the physical answers to whatever we might be praying for. In Jesus name. Amen. Other Scripture Readings: Daniel 10, Genesis 1-2
