REVEALING GOD DEVOTIONAL – FINDING GOD

Praise God! I know many of us are looking forward to the weekend, and that is why I believe this message will help shape it. Today’s message is titled Finding God.

I believe the greatest search of mankind since the Fall is the search for God. This is why we have so many religions in the world today, all trying to find a way to reach Him. What many people don’t realize is that their pursuit of money, career, fame, relationships, and other things is often just a deceptive attempt to fill a void that only God can truly fill. The truth is, even after acquiring all these things, the emptiness remains. This is why some keep jumping from one thing to another — drugs, new business ideas, relationships, and more — yet the void is never satisfied. Only God can fill it. That is why you must seek Him.

Can God be found? Yes! His Word declares:

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)

We can find God — not with physical equipment like scientists try to do, but by genuinely searching for Him from our hearts. God reveals Himself to those who sincerely desire Him. You cannot find Him with a biased or divided mind, because He sees the true condition of your heart.

Many born-again Christians sometimes feel unsure whether God is real or feel that He is far away. That is a lie from the devil. God has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He has always been with you because you are His child. No good parent abandons their child in times of trouble. The reason God seems distant to many is because they have turned their backs on Him while chasing other things or living in sin. But the good news is that God is waiting for you to return and seek Him again. The Scripture says:

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)

This weekend, spend your time wisely by seeking God’s face and not just His hand. Worship Him through songs, study His Word, and pray this simple but powerful prayer:

“God, reveal Yourself to me and forgive my sins.”

I am confident He will answer. I have experienced it, and it can happen for you too. There is greater confidence and willingness to serve God when you know He is real and close to you — not a billion miles away in space or just a fairy tale.

Prayer for Salvation

If you want to find God right now and you are not yet born again, you can do so today by saying this prayer out loud with faith, believing that Jesus Christ died and rose again for your sins:

Dear Lord,
I believe Jesus died and rose again for me. Forgive me my sins and come into my life.
I confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you Father for doing this for me. Reveal Yourself to me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
