The Holy Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, powerfully illustrates the steadfast trustworthiness of God’s Word as presented in Scripture. Through numerous accounts, Scripture demonstrates that God’s promises are always fulfilled, regardless of time, obstacles, or human doubt. These examples affirm that God’s Word is reliable, upheld by His supreme authority and unwavering commitment.

Consider the account of Noah in Genesis 6:17, where God declared, “And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.” For a century, Noah faithfully built the ark while scoffers mocked him, deeming him mad. Yet, after 100 years, God fulfilled His Word. The flood came, destroying the earth and silencing the mockers who had been warned but refused to believe. This account underscores that God’s Word is certain, even in the face of ridicule or disbelief.

Likewise, God’s promise to Abraham showcases His faithfulness despite seemingly impossible circumstances. At 75 years old, Abraham received God’s promise of a child (Genesis 12:2-3), yet he and Sarah faced the challenges of barrenness and old age. Twenty-five years later, God fulfilled His Word, and Sarah bore Isaac (Genesis 21:1-2). This long-awaited fulfillment reveals that God’s timing, though sometimes prolonged from a human perspective, is always perfect and purposeful.

The prophecy of the Messiah further demonstrates the enduring reliability of God’s Word. From the time of Adam, God promised a Savior to redeem humanity (Genesis 3:15). This promise was passed down through generations, and approximately 4,000 years later, it was fulfilled with the birth of Jesus Christ. This remarkable fulfillment across millennia confirms that God’s Word transcends time and remains true, no matter how long it takes to come to pass.

In the book of Daniel, God revealed a vision of five world kingdoms (Daniel 2:31-45). History has witnessed the fulfillment of four of these kingdoms—Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome—exactly as prophesied. We are now in the era of the fifth kingdom, and believers trust in the certainty of the sixth, which will be the return of Jesus Christ to establish His physical kingdom on earth. This precise fulfillment of prophecy reinforces the credibility of God’s Word and assures us of His future promises.

Jesus Himself affirmed His authority and the certainty of His Word in Matthew 28:18, proclaiming, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” This declaration underscores that God’s promises are backed by His supreme authority, ensuring their fulfillment. Psalm 138:2 further emphasizes God’s commitment, stating, “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” In Jeremiah 1:12, God assures us, “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it,” guaranteeing that what He speaks will come to pass.

God’s Word will come to pass as long as we hold fast to our faith, even when circumstances appear discouraging. The enemy may attack, causing delays or challenges that seem overwhelming, but God remains sovereign. Romans 8:28 assures us, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” God takes both the good and the bad in our lives and weaves them into something beautiful for His glory.

In conclusion, the credibility of God’s Word, as revealed in Scripture, is undeniable, evidenced by its fulfillment throughout history. From Noah’s ark to Abraham’s son, from the Messiah’s birth to the rise and fall of kingdoms, God’s promises stand firm. His Word is magnified above His name, watched over to be performed, and backed by His infinite power. As believers, we are called to trust in God’s timing, remain steadfast in faith, and rest in the assurance that He will bring His Word to pass, transforming every trial into a testimony of His faithfulness.
