Light Exposes Darkness
The Scriptures define light as that which reveals and makes things manifest:
“But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.” — Ephesians 5:13 (KJV)
The Word of God gives light:
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” — Psalm 119:130 (KJV)
Where the Word is absent, darkness has room to rule:
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” — Isaiah 8:20 (KJV)

Jesus: The True Light
Jesus came into the world as God’s Light for all who believe:
“I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles.” — Isaiah 42:6 (KJV)
When we are saved, we become carriers of God’s light to our generation. God has deposited something in us to reach others in our time:
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)

What Does It Mean to Be the Light of the World?
Jesus said:
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV)

The Reality of Spiritual Blindness
The god of this world — Satan — blinds the eyes of unbelievers so they cannot see the truth that would save them:
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” — 2 Corinthians 4:3–4 (KJV)
Many will only realize the truth when it’s too late:
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” — Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)

📜 Our Mandate as Believers
Every Christian is entrusted with the responsibility to share the truth:
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” — Mark 16:15–16 (KJV)
Jesus also declared:
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” — Matthew 24:14 (KJV)
On judgment day:
“In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.” — Romans 2:16 (KJV)

🛑 Not Another Gospel
Sadly, some preach messages of condemnation or a distorted gospel. But the true gospel is centered on Jesus Christ alone:
“For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 4:5–6 (KJV)

Do Not Be Ashamed
Rejection will come — some may insult, oppose, or ignore you. Still, persevere in love because others will hear and be saved. Do not let one person’s rejection deny another their chance at eternal life.
This mandate is for Christians — not angels. We are entrusted with the gospel of light, so that humanity can escape darkness.
It is only a foolish person who, after understanding the truth and the danger ahead, still rejects it. Some may not grasp it immediately — which is why persistence is vital.

The Power to Endure
Our mission is driven by love. The Bible never promises it will be easy, but Jesus promised His presence:
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” — Matthew 28:18–20 (KJV)
